The Roof; Saturday Afternoon

There were several ways to indicate fall was upon you. Changing leaves, of course, would be the obvious one. You could look at a calendar, which was just a boring way to do it. Or you could check to see if Chuck Bass was wearing his trademark scarf. Which he was. It truly was the greatest time of the year.

Yep, scarf around his neck and a joint in one hand, Chuck was laid back in a chair reading Les Liaisons dangereuses for about the tenth time. It was the only way he could keep his French in check without, you know, actually going to France.

[Look, it was nippy when I went to go get the mail earlier. I declare it fall. Post is open, of course]

"And besides, if I ever did, there's plenty of people, yourself included, with the permission to smack me," he assured her.

"That's good to know," Kate grinned. "Although, if the situation called for it, I'd totally smack you without your permission, too."

"Yeah, but you're a girl," said, falling back into teasing. "I bet it wouldn't even hurt."
vanillajello: (All amused at you.)

"I have nails," she pointed out, holding up her right hand and showing him her long nails. "They might be pink, but they'll still make you hurt."

"Scratching isn't allowed," he decided. "Smacking is." Because he could dodge it. And nails hurt when they were being used for evil.
vanillajello: (Eyeing you over a KFC bucket.)

"Oh, I'm sure I can find a way to smack you and still cause you pain with my nails," she smirked.

"Also? I just said I'd smack you even without your permission. So do you think telling me scratching's not allowed will help you at all?"

"I'll tell on you," he said, sounding oh so brave upon saying that.
vanillajello: (Smiling sideways.)

[personal profile] vanillajello 2009-09-20 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
"And you'll tell what, exactly? That a girl attacked you?"

[identity profile] decoder-rings.livejournal.com 2009-09-20 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
"That someone attacked me," he clarified. "I wouldn't tell the gender until the very last minute."
vanillajello: (Smiling and looking away from you.)

[personal profile] vanillajello 2009-09-20 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah, but you'd still have to tell it eventually," she said, amused. "And then they'd laugh."

At this school? Not really.

[identity profile] decoder-rings.livejournal.com 2009-09-20 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Who'd laugh?" he countered. "There wouldn't be an audience!"
vanillajello: (Talking.)

[personal profile] vanillajello 2009-09-20 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Random people might pop out of thin air to laugh at you," she offered. "Look, a couple of days ago little blue men stole my pudding. This kind of crap happens."

[identity profile] decoder-rings.livejournal.com 2009-09-20 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Little blue what?" Hannibal asked. He'd missed that. "Like gremlins?"
vanillajello: (Talking to T.)

[personal profile] vanillajello 2009-09-20 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't know, I just heard about them," she replied, shrugging. "A bunch of us were in our common room on Thursday, and we had all lost something, and Leto had actually seen little blue men taking his shirts. So yeah. Little blue men."

[identity profile] decoder-rings.livejournal.com 2009-09-20 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Guess I got lucky," he said, blinking. "Huh. Maybe they and the gremlins will start a little people war."
vanillajello: (Arms crossed.)

"I don't care what they do as long as they stay the hell away from my stuff," she sighed. "And especially my breakfast."

"Never knew you had such a crush on pudding, Kate," he joked. "Even tapioca?"
