roof | mid evening | sunday | september 20
After one of those weeks that he'd sooner forget, Alex was feeling a little more settled when he brought himself to the roof for a smoke and some fresh air. The cooler temperatures were welcome for a guy who spent most of his life in a place where the winters were cold as hell, these were almost mild. Still, they were preferred over sweltering days.
Despite the shitty week, he wasn't giving anything away in his posture of his expression. He was fine, he was good and, really, he was a little more settled than he had been. Of course, there were still things weighing on his mind that he wasn't in a rush to do anything about but he was still feeling better than he had.
Rapidfire moodiness did have its benefits. One moment pissed off, the next moment fine. For now, he was just going to smoke and try to ignore everything that was pinging around in his mind. That was his plan.
[see this roof? it's open.]

"Oops!" Had she bothered him? She directed the helicopter well away. "Sorry," she called out cheerfully, just in case she had.

"You didn't hit me," he said, voice dry. "You would've known if you had."

That there were people already up there wasn't a huge surprise, and Rose gave a general 'hey'. Some people would generally get a warmer greeting but when they acted crazy, that often stopped.

"Evening," he said mildly, nodding. "Welcome to the roof."
