Girls with Guns [Wednesday after classes]

Today Triela only had one, admittedly large, gun case out for today's demonstration.

"You're not going to get to use this one today because there's not really enough space, but I do want to give you a chance to see a sniper rifle. This is a Heckler and Koch PSG1. It's a sniper rifle designed primarily for medium range work. If you remember the battle rifle from last week, this one uses the same ammunition. The longer barrel and greater mass of the weapon give it greater accuracy."

"It's also semi-automatic, which means it's relatively rapid-firing. Semi-automatics aren't as accurate for a number or reasons, but they're perfectly good for medium range work. If anyone wants to take a look at it I'd be glad to let you get a feel for the weapon, but the range here is too short for a real demonstration."

"And that's it! You're welcome to work with any of the stuff we've talked about. Now get to it."

Hayley was there, happy and excited for everything.

She was really in for a hard reality check, once news of Cal's departure got to her.

Tahiri was getting a good, fairly interested look at the sniper rifle from a distance; the most she knew about them was from her mission to Coruscant with Luke, Mara, and the Wraiths, and you couldn't hang around the Wraiths and not get exposed to some level of firearms-related geekery.

"You want a closer look?" Triela asked, spotting Tahiri's interest.

She hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Sure. It's different from the kind we use at home, and not really my specialty, but sure. Ours tend to be blasters, more often than not."

She had her pink hair ties in. Just for gun club, really, but they were in.

After getting a good look at the sniper rifle, Tahiri got her own blaster out and cleaned it, then picked out an alley and went to work. Her aim had gotten better, she realized, and she decided it must have had something to do with the hand-eye coordination practice she'd had to put in training with her X-Wing squadron. It wasn't light-years better, but there was enough improvement that she could tell, and it made her grin as she took aim at her target.

She was actually doing very badly today. This called for a soda break and then another round.

Well, of course the hot one Algren was there. It was his job to be there.

And he really didn't want to see the students do anything stupid. It wasn't that he didn't have faith in them, really. It was more that...

Fine. He didn't have enough faith in them. He'd work on that.
