Second Floor Common Room | Tuesday Evening

Griff had apparently missed the Darkest Night premiere the evening before. This was probably because he spent too much time reading stupid novels in his room.

So tonight he was in the common room, his tiny self flopped on a sofa, and discovering there really was nothing interesting on the television. "I should've brought a book with me," he lamented into his coffee mug.

It would be wrong to teleport back to the room for one, right?

Sookie wandered in after perusing her own common room and deciding, uncharacteristically grumpy at the lack of people upstairs, just wandered down floor by floor until she found someone.

"Griff," she lamented, heading for the fridge, "why is the week after vacation so boring and empty?"

His head lolled against the back of the sofa, leaning to see her in the kitchen. "Because vacation was too great for normalcy to even start to compare?"

"I think that has to be it. I had to go down three floors to find someone to talk to!" she said woefully.

"Obviously the second floor is the place for people...with nothing better to do tonight," he said with a little smile. "But talking fixes that, right?"

"What's up, roomie?" Alex asked, giving Griff's head a flick before sitting down beside him. "Sulking?"

"Karev," Griff greeted him with a sigh. "There's no sulking when you're around."

"I know, I am the life of the party," he said, propping his feet up. "Thought maybe you'd miss me. You can't seem to get enough of me, after all."

"You're the one following me," Griff pointed out. "Not taking advantage of the lack of me in the room."

"We're all bored," Sookie told the unfamiliar boy, smiling cheerfully at him. "Did you bring entertainment?"

"I don't provide the entertainment," he said, taking a nice long look at the new girl, "I partake in it."

"And what would you consider entertaining?" she asked, raising an eyebrow at him.

Mirax was just opening her mouth to say when she looked at the TV and realized, "You know I don't know that I've ever been in a common room when the TV was off?"

"Usually I find them full of television watching and food combined. Unlucky for you, I don't cook," Griff replied with a little tilt of his head.

"But why would I need you to cook when I can do it myself?" she pointed out. "See, I'm plenty lucky."

"Ah, then you should make something," Griff decided. "Since you cook and all."

"I don't like being in here by myself without some sound on," Sookie contributed. "And then people file in from there."

"So this place does exist without the sound on," she said thoughtfully. "Interesting..." She almost didn't believe it. Different timelines people turning into animals, that was easy. A common room without the TV on? Not possiblem.

"I've got enough sound in my head," Sookie shrugged. "TV makes for a welcome distraction. But yes, the TVs do turn off. They need their rest too!"

"Nothing on TV at all?" Jennifer said. "Wow, the future is lame sometimes."

"Or just Tuesdays," he countered. "But my lame might not be your lame."

"I can vote for Tuesdays being lame," Jennifer said. "Maybe we need to liven them up..."

"Got a good plan for that?" Griff wondered.

While it probably couldn't be said that Zayne had nothing better to do (he could be training or something, after all), he still felt like a night in the common room.

And so he headed downstairs. "I've kind of missed TV after the last week," he admitted. "Anything interesting on?"

"Not that I've found," Griff said apologetically. "Seems dead tonight."

"That seems to be the case a lot," Zayne said with a slight shrug. "It's still decent as background noise, anyway."
