After spending the past few days in a place that made his bones - if he was going to be sentimental - thrum with a distinct sense of belonging, where the trees were just the right shade of green (again in this hypothetical state of sentimentality) and people seemed to genuinely get any number of things that were rarely gotten around here (even if he had been told, several times, that he was 'a bit posh, aren't you', to the point of annoyance, including one or two spots of combining that word with some rather unflattering language) Fandom seemed a little... stark.

Too restless to hole up in his room, Arthur eventually gave in to the idea that maybe the common room would be slightly less depressing. It was an idea he was swiftly abandoning as he poked at a can of orange juice and eyed the Teevee remote.

Nope. Still not tempted. There was that.

Chuck raised an eyebrow. "What is it?"

Kate had momentarily forgotten that hiding the weird went both ways between her family and Fandom. Suddenly she was pretty glad that Eric had gone back to New York.

"I don't think I should say. I just... remembered something else I wanted to tell him."

"If it's something weird or gross, feel free to tell me. I won't be offended or anything," Chuck said. "We've only been brothers for about a year. I haven't built up that 'ew, my brother sleeps with other people' sibling barrier yet."

That was an understatement.

"It's not about your brother," Kate said, shaking her head. "Although Moosh totally crushed on him, and it was so cute."

"Yeah, well, Eric has that effect on people," Chuck said. "So what is it about then?"

Kate shook her head. "Just tell him never to talk about T. He'll know what I mean."
