Third Floor Common Room, Wednesday Afternoon

After spending the past few days in a place that made his bones - if he was going to be sentimental - thrum with a distinct sense of belonging, where the trees were just the right shade of green (again in this hypothetical state of sentimentality) and people seemed to genuinely get any number of things that were rarely gotten around here (even if he had been told, several times, that he was 'a bit posh, aren't you', to the point of annoyance, including one or two spots of combining that word with some rather unflattering language) Fandom seemed a little... stark.

Too restless to hole up in his room, Arthur eventually gave in to the idea that maybe the common room would be slightly less depressing. It was an idea he was swiftly abandoning as he poked at a can of orange juice and eyed the Teevee remote.

Nope. Still not tempted. There was that.

Leto walked into the common room in search for something to eat, and possibly some company. Noticing Arthur, he wondered if he was in the mood for that particular company, but he nodded in greeting as he headed towards the kitchen area.

"Leto," Arthur greeted in turn, his mood not quite draconian enough to make a big fuss about it.

"So, how was your journey?" Leto asked, finding some bread and dried fruit in the cupboard. He didn't know where Arthur had been, but he assumed he had been off island in order not to show up at the reserves meeting yesterday.

"It was actually quite pleasant," Arthur said, glancing after him. Wait. Hadn't he spotted Leto near Morgana's booth the other day--? "Although airplane travel continues to be an irritation."

Didi was determinedly ignoring any slightly odd vibes in the room as she came in to get her cereal and juice. (Desire and Dream's backbiting would make Leto and Arthur look like amateurs, anyhow, so she had practice.)

"Hi. Are we watching anything?"

Leto looked up and smiled at her. "No, I'm not. Hello, Didi."

"Hey, Leto," Didi said, waving a few fingers. "How was your Homecoming?"

"We are not," Arthur said, graciously, "But take a seat anyway, if you wish."

Mood: still somewhat decent.

"Thanks, I think I will," Didi said, perfectly pleasant as she flopped onto the couch (managing not to spill the milk from her cereal) and reached for the remote. "We could see if there are cartoons."

Chuck was tempted to just turn right back around and go back to his room as soon as he saw Arthur in the common room but he hadn't quite gotten down to that level of cowardice yet.

Give it time. He'll get there eventually.

"Arthur," Chuck greeted as he went into the kitchen for coffee. Look, he wasn't even doing the ignoring thing either. Truly he was feeling brave today.

"Chuck," Arthur said, pleasantly.

Unlike Leto, he didn't have the advantage of previous association to soften the sharklike grin or clear air of menace. "Didn't I see you scurrying towards the Lady Morgana's booth this carnival?"

Chuck leaned against one of the counters and tilted his head slightly as he pretended to think. "Morgana...now which one was she...oh, pretty brunette, right? Has a hot accent?"

Didi waved a little. "Hi. Have I met you yet?"

... look, knowing a lot about everyone in the technical sense didn't mean her memory was spotless.

"I'd certainly remember if we had," Chuck said smoothly. She was pretty in a whole goth sort of way. "Chuck Bass."

Leto had listened to the ongoing conversation between Chuck and Arthur, managing not to look too amused. "I have to say I feel a little sorry for Morgana. And my sister would probably stab me if I behaved like that."

"For good reason," Chuck said with a smirk. "I think Morgana knew what she was getting into when she signed up for that booth, which is something our dear Arthur doesn't seem to understand."

Kate had been meaning to ask Chuck something ever since Parents' Weekend, but her mun/she'd kept forgetting. She only remembered it now because her brother had called and asked about it.

"Hey, Chuck? Do you know a guy called Eric?"

"Eric van der Woodsen?" Chuck asked. "Yeah, he's my brother."

Oh. The common room was pretty busy this afternoon. Kate wasn't sure how she felt about that.

But whatever, it was pudding time. She gave a cursory wave to everyone, before heading to the fridge for a pudding cup.

"Kate," Arthur greeted, from his seat. "Good afternoon."

"Afternoon, Arthur," Kate replied, taking a seat by a table with her pudding cups and her spoon.

Yes, cups. She'd ended up taking two instead of just one.

"Hello, Kate." He smiled at her. "Feeling better?"

It was all so very relative, really.

"Uh huh," Kate nodded with a light smile. "It wasn't some kind of a superhangover, you know."

Didi waved back. "You're looking better," she observed. "Much less Smurf-like."

"I know," Kate replied with a little grin. "It's good, 'cause I didn't feel like being Smurf for Halloween."
