Samhain Celebration - Main Campfire of the Cabins, Sunday, Dusk

Having ~~handwavilyomg~~ put up some very, very poorly spelled signs with Tara for people to know about this, Merlin was more than happy to get things started.

If only because there had been some rather insistent candy yesterday and he'd tried some out of pity and now believed Halloween may be evil. So, there was that.

But he had everything all set up and hopefully there wouldn't be an attack of some also horrible sweet from his time. But this was Fandom, so that was an actual concern. Damn Fandom.

Didi shook her head. "I felt like a quiet night. Sorry I missed you, though. Whast was your costume like?"

The sudden thought came to her that whatever it was like, Raven had probably looked very nice in it. Raven usually looked nice. More than nice, maybe...

"I found a set of black feathered wings," Raven said, "and I wore a black and purple dress to go with them. It was more...constricting than I am used to, but I received many compliments."

Didi's tongue darted out and licked her lips. "You don't seem like the tight dress type," she said. "But -- somehow the compliments don't surprise me. You have gorgeous skin."

"I do?" Raven blushed. "Thank you," she said. "I suspect it is because I can heal any blemish before it has time to form."

Teenagers around the world would be camped on her doorstep if they knew that.

"Oh, lucky," Didi enthused. "A lot of people would give digits to be able to do that. But I guess it's just natural to you, huh?"

Raven was so cool.

"It is one of the blessings of my gifts," Raven said. "But I think you are lovely as well. Are you able to choose your form when you become human?"

Didi blushed, a faint red stain on her pale cheeks. "I -- all I do is change my hair and my clothes a little," she said. "Some of my siblings do more with it, but I've always liked the way I look."

She looked at her shoes as she added, "I'm glad you do too. Really glad."

Raven was pleased that her opinion meant so much to one such as Death. "We are very much alike in some of our preferences," Raven said, glancing down at her own black clothes to Didi's. "Do any of your friends here try to insist you wear colors?"

"I have a running bet with Jaime that he can't get me into anything yellow," Didi said, blushing yet more with pleasure at the comparison. "You don't want me to wear color, do you? I won't burst into flame or anything."

"I have gone clothes shopping with Joan, and she keeps trying to make me try on more colorful clothing," Raven said. "I do like dark purples and burgundy, but I am most fond of black. And I think black suits you as well."

Goths had to have each other's back.

Didi wrinkled her nose. "Joan doesn't have the best taste," she said. "Sweet girl, but ... so do you spend a lot of time with her?"

She was, suddenly, very interested.

"She was one of my first friends when I came here," Raven said with a fond smile. "And she is the one who brought me to Professor Skywalker when she saw what a difficult time I was having with all the emotions around me."

"That ... that's good, I guess," Didi said. "You should have friends. Everyone should have friends."

"I did not have friends in Azarath," Raven said. Even without the lack of emotion, she'd been more feared than welcomed. "That has been the best thing about coming to Fandom, learning about friendship. And love."

"You don't strike me as somebody who has problems with love," Didi observed. "You ... kind of radiate it."

"I do?" Raven said. She ducked her head shyly. "I have been unlucky with it, unfortunately. I mistook love for lust and did something I should not. But I think that luck has changed now." She smiled as she thought of Jono.

Oh, the irony.
