Having handwavilyomg put up some very, very poorly spelled signs with Tara for people to know about this, Merlin was more than happy to get things started.

If only because there had been some rather insistent candy yesterday and he'd tried some out of pity and now believed Halloween may be evil. So, there was that.

But he had everything all set up and hopefully there wouldn't be an attack of some also horrible sweet from his time. But this was Fandom, so that was an actual concern. Damn Fandom.

Hang out by the bonfires! Yes, there were two. You were supposed to walk between then and be purified for the next year.

Uther hadn't been terribly fond of Samhain. Not enough to do anything about it, but it certainly wasn't part of Arthur's experience barring one unfortunate incident he was... unlikely to divulge to more than one person at this party.

He did arrive, though, forgoing Fight Club for the evening. Possibly partly as a show of support, and partly as a need to see what was going to go wrong. ... Good god, he hoped Merlin wasn't responsible for the food.

He was even wearing a nice, aristocratic black jacket for the occasion.

Samhain wasn't a festival she was familiar with, but it wasb at least more familiar than yesterday's festival, and so Firekeeper was here, Blind Seer at her side. Yes, he'd actually decided to come to one of these things. The fact that it was held outside made all the difference.

Diana had nothing better to do for the evening and a cat who was complaining about getting fed, so she was there, studying the evil candy to see if it was going to attack any time soon.

It was Sunday and it was cooler but that wasn't going to stop Hannibal from heading out to a party. Hands tucked into his jacket, he wandered around and contemplated going for the food soon. Couldn't live on candy alone.

Soooooooo, party for some funky holiday Kennedy didn't know anything about other than it had a weird name and it was some kind of pagan-y thing.

Point was, party. Okay, party that Tara had something to do with. Even if she didn't get the holiday, she could so do the, uh, moral support thing, right?

And, you know, hang out. At something that didn't bear a whole lot in the way of resemblance to her general concept of parties, but hey.

Today Leda was wearing a simple, white gown and sandals. And a jacket, cause really, it was October.

She decided that purifying yourself like that shouldn't be something you just do. So she took a moment before walking between.

Leto had been unsure how to spend the evening, but had finally decided that celebrating old holidays would be a good idea. Even if the signs hadn't looked promising.

Perhaps he had been influenced by the hope of seeing someone who had been on his mind a lot today should be there too. Not that Leto would admit this.

This festival was much more along the lines of what Eleanor was used to. Of course she was going to walk between the bonfires, what kind of Fire Mage would she be otherwise?

She could even walk through them if she wanted, but that might be pushing things a bit too far.

Chuck didn't have a clue what the two bonfires signified, but they were kind of nice, and he picked one to warm his hands over while he looked around hopefully for a certain figure. He hadn't been able to stop thinking about her since yesterday.

Jill had been able to decode enough of the very poorly spelled signs to figure out where to show up, but she wasn't exactly sure why she was here. It seemed like people were having fun, though, so she decided to stick around.

There was stew! And, no, Merlin didn't make it himself, so there was no fear of food poisoning.

And, since this was a party, there was also a healthy amount of beer and what may have been mead. FOR ASGARD

Arthur was still eying the stew with a healthy skepticism and fear, and would do so until someone told him it wasn't actually Merlin's creation. However, he had to grudgingly admit there were certainly points to be had for the mead.

Oh, someone needed to inform Merlin that modern beer was nothing like beer he knew in alcohol content. Otherwise, he'll be drinking all night.

...this may be a good thing, may be a bad thing depending.

But right now, he was just happy as a clam.

Francine would have been here even if she hadn't been helping with the food, but it certainly didn't hurt that she knew in advance that the stew had actually turned out pretty damned tasty.

In the choice between beer and anything, she'd usually go with the anything. Mead it was then, even with certain unpleasant brownie-related associations. She'd just be drinking it slowly, thanks.

Firekeeper was avoiding the beer (and the mead), as usual, but had spooned out a good portion of stew for herself.

Blind Seer was just going to grumble about the lack of raw meat. Firekeeper had no sympathy for this grumbling, since it's not like he couldn't just wander off into the preserve and catch a few rabbits if he wanted.

Leda, in honor of the Day of the Dead, had brought a bunch of spun sugar skulls that she had handwavily gotten from some NPC townsfolk folks who were picnicing in the cemetery.

Then she got some mead.

"I'd like to propose a toast." she announced. "To all our dearly departed, who on this day are more likely to be able to hear us than any other, depending on who you talk to. May they find comfort, and feel our love, and may we always keep them in our hearts, and in our minds. Taes."

There were apples to peel to decipher the name of your true love by interpreting what letter it appeared to be when it hit the ground. Though, Merlin found that seemed to change from year to year.
