Samhain Celebration - Main Campfire of the Cabins, Sunday, Dusk
Having handwavilyomg put up some very, very poorly spelled signs with Tara for people to know about this, Merlin was more than happy to get things started.
If only because there had been some rather insistent candy yesterday and he'd tried some out of pity and now believed Halloween may be evil. So, there was that.
But he had everything all set up and hopefully there wouldn't be an attack of some also horrible sweet from his time. But this was Fandom, so that was an actual concern. Damn Fandom.

Re: Food!
Very well! He'd spent it in excellent company! Company which had made his mind race to keep up with what was going on. And not in a bad way, which was new, for him.
//Yerself?//
Re: Food!
"What did you do for Halloween?"
Re: Food!
//Oh, yer know. Dressed up, wandered about a bit. There was important toilet papering to be done, after all. Spent some time with Raven.//
That last bit managed to hit a rather wistful chord, yes.
Re: Food!
[OOC: LJ never gave me this tag. Sorry!]
Re: Food!
Oh, the whimsy, it was strong in him now.
Re: Food!
Re: Food!
//That would break yer track record of bein' able to say that it was everyone else copying yer look, wouldn't it?// That was Jono's subtle, polite sort of way of nudging her away from playing copycat. That gem was Raven's look. Didi had other things that set her apart. //Though I think she's got excellent taste, luv. If she said she likes the way yer dress, then she likes it. She's not really the lying sort, after all.//
A pause, while he mulled over the rest.
//She's offered to heal me,// he added. //How incredible she is reaches a little deeper than blemishes, yer know.//
Re: Food!
She smiled, tilting her head at him. "Oh. I -- I wish I could give you that. Will you let her?"
Some stupid part of her hated Raven right then, that she could offer something Didi couldn't.
Re: Food!
//If yer started copying her look, yer wouldn't look like Didi,// he noted, and that seemed important, somehow. Didi had to be Didi, and Raven could be Raven, and he liked them both however they were, and however they seemed as though they were meant to be. There was nothing the matter with that, was there?
He took another moment, hesitating before answering that second question.
//I told her last night that I've been thinking about it. And that it's tempting. And that I need a little time before I decide. But I trust her.//
Raven had given him the sensation of being kissed last night, too. Of warm lips against lips, and for a moment he'd nearly felt whole. But he'd never been the sort to kiss and tell, and now seemed like a silly time to start babbling about that, anyhow.
Re: Food!
Re: Food!
//Oh?// Well, this had just reached a new level of awkward, hadn't it? //She... really is quite the individual, isn't she? Easy to like. Kind of sneaks up on a person, really.//
Re: Food!
She watched him carefully. "You too, huh?" she asked with a crooked smile. "You can go for it. She's more your age anyhow."
Didi would be over here, eating her heart out.
Re: Food!
//Just like that?// He wanted to. Wanted to so very badly. And at the same time, he wanted to grab hold of Didi and not let go ever again. It didn't make any bloody sense. //I don't want to just... I mean... Her, and yer, and...//
...
//Bollocks.//
Re: Food!
Please, don't make her go through the monologue about her family and her short shelf life again. It'd crack her heart.
"At least -- if you were with her, I'd know I lost both of you to someone really amazing."
Re: Food!
And so he nodded, and he reached for her hand. There was something about all of this that made him feel sick inside, and for as clean a break as Didi's offer seemed... there was still a huge piece of him that didn't want to make a break at all.
//I'll give it some thought,// he settled on. Those weren't the words he'd been hoping for at all, but they were better than nothing.
Re: Food!
She took his hand, aimed a smile at him and ignored how warm and moist her eyes were.
"Thanks." Didi wasn't a writer. That was the best she could do just then. Her eyes would have to say the rest.
