Fourth floor common room- Friday after radio

Yep, Mirax was still in the common room. Though she'd gotten tired of her treasure hunt for ornaments and had fallen asleep on the sofa in front of something on the TV that had yet to go to informercial.

At least there was no snoring?

After coming back from the coffee shop no matter how it might go in SP, Jaina was finding ice cream before she went back to her room, dammit. Which was why she was on the wrong floor, doing some scavenging.

And if she was a little loud, well, she didn't see the person sleeping on the couch, so there.

She was loud enough to wake Mirax, who sat up with suddenly wide eyes and declared, "I'm not sleeping!"

Well not anymore.

"Of course you're not," said Jaina, finally noticing tiny!Mirax. "Sorry. I'd say I'd be quieter, but... oops."

"I should probably get to my own room anyway," she said, glancing around and deciding she could clean tomorrow. And then she glanced up at the TV and said, "After this show."

Mirax frowned right back, slightly defensive of her soap opera love. "They're overdramatic fun. There's nothing wrong with indulging in some of that sometimes."

When Angela came in, holding one of her cats, she took two seconds to look at the television and said, "We're in an energy crisis. You shouldn't be wasting it on that drivel."

Angela didn't believe in the energy crisis. She was pretty sure it was just propaganda from Al Gore. But she thought soap operas were trash, and she was picking her battles.

Jaina stared at the tiny- okay, same height as her- blonde, muttering, "Great, now I'm agreeing with her."

Really, Mirax was too tired to keep up the defense. She didn't actually care that much. "All right, fine, the tiny ones win this one," she said, getting up and picking up the remote to turn off the TV-

Except before she pushed the button, a spark lit up the screen before the TV abruptly shut off.

"I didn't break it!" she protested, pushing buttons on the remote almost at random. "I didn't even get to turn it off!"

Jaina sighed, putting own the ice cream down in order to get her multitool from her pocket. "Electronics don't work that way, unless this planet's really off," she said, and started checking out the TV.

It was their funeral.

"Fine. But when you blow up the dorms, remember there was a witness," Angela told them, taking the bowl and the cat back down to their room.

As Angela left the room, Mirax said in a faux-perky voice, "I bet she's fun at parties."

And then more seriously, "Think you can fix it?"

"Um." It'd be a lot easier if the TV didn't keep making those weird flashes. "I might have to look into this. That's not exactly normal."

And as the screen did something weird again, she said, "Or we'll unplug it and hopefully it'll have cooled down in the morning."

Nope. Wasn't gonna happen.
