first floor rec room / makeshift clinic | saturday | december 5

Dr. Alex Karev was stressed. People just kept coming and getting sick and dying on him. He couldn't seem to save anyone. Medical school, internships and residencies hadn't prepared him for being a real doctor. It was just so hard. But he was determined. And he was ready to give medical aid and advice to those who needed it. He'd handwritten signs and stuck them around the dorms that said SICK PEOPLE THIS WAY and pointed them in his direction.

After that, it meant moving things out of the way and getting himself some cots and chairs and curtains. He hadn't ever been away from Seattle Grace before but a small clinic would give him more of an opportunity to expand and help more people.

Plus, it meant he was in charge too. Alex, you see, liked power. This was his clinic and he'd run it how he damn well pleased. He might not be all that prepared to be a full fledged doctor but the best way to learn was jump into the fire and get some practical experience.

He was a doctor, dammit.

[this is exactly what it looks like! makeshift clinic post for those that are in comas, preggo, have tropical diseases, or just wanna hang out in hospitals and talk to doctors who are always on breaks like people do on soaps! alex totes thinks he's a doctor and a damn good one. he has awful bedside manner so be prepared! first floor is open to everyone!]

Griff returned from nowhere a few minutes later with a perfect sandwich in hand - crustless, of course. "One sandwich for the busy doc," he sing-songed fabulously.

Hearing he was Alex's favorite always made Griff sigh a happy sigh involuntarily. Really, he was lucky Alex was hungry. "You know, the usual," Griff started, thinking about how he'd made Alex's bed and done their laundry before he'd gone off in search of his BFF. "Saved some girl the trouble of reading smut in the common room."

"Gross, Alex," Griff said, making a face at the idea of girlbits. "No, it was stuff her mom wrote, so I read it for her. Steamy. You'd probably enjoy it."

"Duh," Griff said, nudging Alex with his elbow, "that's why I read it for her!" God, the closeness was intoxicating.

"Not exactly my type," Griff replied awkwardly, not having the courage to explain that his type generally went by the pronoun 'he.' "You'd probably like her. Blonde with boobs."

Really, there was nothing else Griff would rather hear.

Okay, nothing else that wasn't 'I want you, I love you, and let's fuck' but Griff wasn't holding his breath for any of that from Alex.

"Hey, mind the hair, I had it mussed just right till a minute ago."

"I do," Griff sighed, then froze. "I-I mean, I don't mind it so much! I'm just trying to look presentable."

Alex didn't even know how true that really was. "Yeah, well, I'd tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. I think I'll just suffer through you touching me all the time." If only he would touch more.

Griff had to bite his lip to avoid saying something Alex would never in a million years want to hear from him. "Yeah, doctor's hands are pretty great, but they got nothing on a pianist."

"Hey, I don't want you to think you're not like, perfect as always," Griff told him. "Just, I probably shouldn't obsess over you." Um.

Oh how he wished he was kidding. "You're easy to obsess over. You've got the full package, my friend. Some girl's gonna be real happy to land you."
