The Roof [Saturday night]

Jaime had a huge bowl of fresh popcorn dripping with butter and drenched in s salt. He was sitting near the edge of the roof, just looking out. "Man," he shook his head, looking over at his companion, "this may be the weirdest thing that's happened since I got here. And that's saying something."

He snorted. "Does this sort of thing happen often?"

"And do you think we have enough popcorn for any other unaffected people who might show up?"

"No, but I have big sparkly ones!" She made her eyes big and sparkly at him. "Please don't return me? Plus you didn't keep the original packaging, so you'd have to pay for shipping! And it's not just to Japan it's to a whole different universe and then you'd have to explain to my parents and the Professor and I would cry!"

Actually, she was close to laughing and losing her sparkly eyes affect, but even at half power, they should have some effect...

They did. Or it seemed like they did because Jaime stared at them with an expression of concentration as he tried to resist, but... then his shoulders sagged. "No," he sighed. "No crying. I guess you get to stay."

Momoko, of course, tried to push her luck... "And you'll buy me dessert sometime, one with lots of chocolate, maybe even two?"

"I... won't..." Resistance crumbling...

"Fine! But you have to stop making the eyes!"

[heromaniac]

"Yay!" Easy as pie. Or cake. Momoko stopped the eyes (sort of) and blew him a kiss. "Superpowers rock, but nothing beats a great pair of sparkly eyes! I got professor Deadpool to give me a pair of really cute shoes once!" Yes, a year later she still talked about those shoes. She adored those shoes!

"Have I ev er seen these shoes?" Jaime demanded with a relieved sort of grin as she turned down the adorable.

"Hmm." Momoko thought for a moment, tapping her chin. "I haven't worn anything that they would go with recently; they're really nice heels. A pretty red and about this high." She indicated a heel suitable for modeling work because I can't remember. "So, nope! Not unless you've been in my closet. Have you? Because really, I don't know that anything would fit you."

"No, I haven't been in your closet!" Jaime choked. Because there were probably clothes in there he didn't want to see... Or, well, that he did want to see, but... you know!

Momoko laughed and bumped his shoulder. "Jaime, you are too fun! Tell you what, if you get turned into a girl, you can borrow any of my clothes that can fit! Even the red heels, okay?" She reached for another handful of popcorn.

"If I get turned into a girl I'm going to hide under my bed," he countered with an amused snort.

Momoko would so go and drag him out.

"You mean, 'when', not if!" Momoko raised a finger as she chuckled, then put her hands behind her and leaned back, relaxed. "Ahh! It's so nice up here, even though it's cold. And you can see almost the whole town, the sky is so clear! I totally need to come up here more often!" And maybe go for another flight really soon. It was good flying weather.

"Bite your tongue," Jaime admonished her. "It's if! If!"

"But... yeah, you're right. It is nice up here. Quiet. Peaceful."
