5th Floor Common Room -- Sunday Evening

She'd managed to forget that there was a party going on until late enough that she'd have felt sort of weird showing up—not to mention 'bout the fact that Ino was a bit weirded out by the idea of showing up at some strange grown-up's place for a party—and so, with her Santa hat perched jauntily on her head, she'd wandered into her common room to make hot chocolate.

It was totally seasonal. And so was the candy cane she was nibbling on. The candy was obviously the best part of this holiday, especially for someone who only had the vaguely concept of what the holiday entailed beyond 'shiny presents'.

But presents? Were pretty awesome too. She leaned against the counter and sipped her hot chocolate idly.

She tapped her cheek idly. "I suppose I should at that. How do people go 'bout being your friend?"

"Usually with bribes," Jaime shrugged. "I'm quite susceptible."

[intraspective]

"How 'bout pretty pleases and maybe a plant?" Ino tried. "I'm good at plants."

Understatement of the century, yes.

[weldedtomyspine]

"A plant? Do you want it to die? Because... yeah, that's not something I'm good at."

[intraspective]

"No plants then!" she amended hastily. "No killing any of them!"

[weldedtomyspine]

"Yeah. That's probably best. But... sugar! Sugar is good. Or dinner dates with pretty girls!" That was totally a joke, of course. If she actually tried to bribe him with a dinner date he'd blush a lot, and maybe stammer.

[intraspective]

See, that just meant Ino was going to peer at him all coyly.

"A dinner date, mm?"

Hey, she liked dinner and stuff and he'd help throw... well, he'd add confusion to the mix.

[weldedtomyspine]

"Er..." Jaime blinked rapidly, cheeks coloring very slightly. "Sugar is fine?"

[intraspective]

Awwwww.

"I can do sugar," she said, then added, totally teasingly: "Though if you change your mind..."

"Sugar's fine!" he insisted quickly. Yeah, he was so smooth.

[intraspective]

He was hilarious.

"I win," she informed him. "And don't say things you can't back up."

[weldedtomyspine]

"I can totally back things up!" Jaime objected.

[intraspective]

"And yet you don't want to go on a date with me?"

Totally totally teasing. She was so mean.

[weldedtomyspine]

"Fine then!" he said before his brain could catch up with his mouth. "When and where?"

[intraspective]

She toootally won at this!

"Taste of Thai," she said promptly, because it was the first thing the came to her head. "And Thursday."

Poor, poor Jaime.

"Done."

Wait. What did he just agree to?

[intraspective]

Ino's cackle was probably not reassuring.

"I totally won that," she said, beaming at him.

[weldedtomyspine]

"You haven't won until Thursday," Jaime countered. He was so going to figure out a way to get the better of her.

He hoped.

[intraspective]

"I'll see you then," she said, with a laugh. "And we'll see who wins round two."

[weldedtomyspine]

"Yeah. We will." Jaime smirked. Or, he tried to. He was a boy, so he was pretty good at looking confident even when he didn't feel it.
