The Roof, late Saturday Afternoon

Raven had spent a great deal of the day watching the snow fall outside her window before making her way up to the roof for a better view. The pristine blanket of white that covered the island took her breath away -- as did the drop in temperature. But for now, the view and the still heavily-falling snow dazzled her more than the cold bothered her, and she was so enchanted by her first sight of snow that soon she was spinning in circles, arms outstretched, catching snowflakes on her fingers and tongue.

It would get old. Eventually.

"Why not? What did Santa ever do to you?" Hayley asked, crossing her arms and trying to look serious.

"The man wears a giant red coat and a ridiculous hat," Jaime pointed out.

Hayley gasped. "His hat is amazing," she said, objecting.

"... I don't think it'd really set off my eyes," Jaime managed to counter.

"Well, then you'll just have to buy a scarf for yourself, d'uh," Hayley pointed out.

"Hmm... that might work," Jaime mused playfully. Since, obviously, it was a good idea.

"Well of course it will," Hayley said. "I'm not stupid, ya know?"

"I never said you were," Jaime held up his hands defensively, still grinning a bit.

"Good," Hayley said. "Cause if ya did, I'd be awfully angry." She giggled.

"And throw snowballs at me?" Jaime suggested with a laugh.

"Oooh, that's a good thought, angry or not," Hayley said, her smile turning devious.

"Ooooh, no," Jaime shook his head. "I'm plenty cold without any snowballs, thank you."

"Well, if I made ya cold, I could always help warm ya back up," Hayley said, waggling her eyebrows.

Jaime laughed. "I wouldn't say no to some hot chocolate," he grinned in deliberate misunderstanding.

"...oooh, that sounds delicious," Hayley said, instantly derailed in her train of thought. Luckily, there were no casualties.

"I think I'm gonna go make some."

"Awesome!" Jaime grinned. "I think I might join you." It would get him out of the cold, after all.

"Perfect," Hayley said. "We'll be able to make 'em twice as fast."
