Yuletide Party! - By the Dorms, Monday Dusk Till Dawn

Between the dorms and preserve, a moderately sized--if only because dragging over more wood than was already stockpiled nearby was far too much work--fire was lit as the sun set and the longest night of the year began. In the main lobby and by the fire there were much larger supplies of spiced cider and ale.

...look, people in ye olde times really liked to get drunk and light things on fire. It was a time honored tradition.

Raven nodded. "It happened once at a slumber party. I thought it only affected boys, but...it can affect girls as well."

"Francine was kissed by a girl there. But she's kissing a girl now anyway."

"Katchoo," Raven said, nodding. "I am glad I did not cause much trouble between them when my gifts were...acting up."

"You didn't do it on purpose," Merlin assured her. "And Katchoo was a cute bunny."

Raven ducked her head. "I had feared for a short time that you would do the same to me," she said.

She'd make a very pretty raven, though! "It was only to keep Katchoo from saying things that would hurt them both when they were normal!"

"I understand that now," Raven said. "And it was probably a wise decision. Francine had already been hurt enough when she saw Katchoo...." Shove her up against a tree and put her tongue down her throat.

"It's hard to see someone you love with someone else," Merlin said with a ~~puppy face~~ sigh. "But they're still together!"

Raven toooooooootally didn't glance over at Jono. Really. Okay, maybe just a little bit. "It is," she said, "but true caring means you are happy as long as the person you love is happy. There is much I must learn of love, but that is one thing of which I am certain."

"But what about you?" Merlin asked, showing how he made the Arthur/Gwen/Lancelot love triangle worse. "And what if you could make them happier? If it's love, it's worth anything."

"I would like to be loved some day," Raven admitted, "but I could not bear to cause discord between others." And threesomes would be so confusing!

"I'm sure you'll find that love," Merlin replied firmly, clinging to his phone. "Everyone deserves it."

Raven shrugged with a tiny smile. "Perhaps," she said. "In the meantime, kissing is nice."

"Kissing is wonderful," Merlin the utter girl replied. "And there are movies about the rest of it."

...because who better than Merlin to introduce people to porn?

Please, he was talking to the girl who worked in Dite's store. Which she reminded him. "You mean...the movies that Lady Aphrodite sells in her store?"

"Yes! They have them for everything." A beat. "But women don't make noises like that in real life."

"I know, there are many categories," Raven said. Because she had to put them all on the shelves. "But I have never watched any. They seem...confusing."

"I liked the one with the men."

...yes, Merlin. We know you're very gay.

Raven blushed, but offered helpfully, "I think there is a new shipment of movies coming in tomorrow." She wasn't going to mention that there may have been some Arthurian inspired gay porn already in stock, including one entitled "Sir Lancelot Gets Lanced A Lot."

...that would end badly, yes. "Really?"

Tomorrow, Merlin would hide and pretend this conversation never happened.

"New movies usually arrive on Tuesday," Raven said, blushing more. "I must sort them into the proper category and put them on the shelves with the others." And try to figure out why people would want to bend that way while she was at it.

"You should watch one!" A beat. "Not in a common room."

"I am not certain that is a good idea," Raven said. "What is described on the boxes often seems very unrealistic, and that would just further confuse me."

"You ignore the things mostly. Because it never makes sense. They always magically stop having clothing on."

Weird.

"But it will show you how some things are done!"

"You are well acquainted with these type of movies?" Raven asked. "I am somewhat familiar with" -- what Chuck had shown her that one night -- "the basics."
