After spending the morning reading celebrity gossip mags online, Priestly was all set to be a little more social. He put his kilt on over a pair of ripped jeans, used every dye color in his collection to achieve a banded technicolor mohawk (and a little bit of stripe on his goatee), put in a call to Dinah, and hit the common room to whip up a couple hot subs.

After all, if he was going to go about setting fashion trends, he needed to have something that might draw people in, right?

Yeah, and okay, he was pretty hungry to boot. What? He was a growing teenage boy.

"Well, it's not like we've got the autobahn around here or anything." Priestly's definition of 'slow' might not match Jonas'.

Jonas decided not to say he didn't really know what that was. Instead, he asked, "Perhaps I'll start out with those things in town. The rickshaws. They look fairly safe. And since there's not much else on the island that doesn't involve climbing down the side of a building..."

He'd heard of it happening and knew it just wasn't for him. Too high, too many variables, not enough knowledge of the whole thing.

"Well, the rickshaws don't go any faster than someone running. So that's not much of a difference."

"All right." Gaining this experience was going to take more time than he'd originally thought. "So, my options seem to be not trying or going to the mainland and finding a cab. While I doubt I'll be driving anytime soon, I can't see the harm in riding a cab."

"So cab it up, man! And, hey, Maryland cabs are probably way more reasonable than the ones in New York."

"I'd gathered there isn't as much traffic due to the smaller city size." At least, that was what he'd deduced with his very limited context. "And the buildings aren't as large."

"And way more spaced out."

"Which will make it look less like things are going to close in and crush me," he admitted, sheepish. "New York was daunting."

"Hell, I hear that from folks who grew up in other cities."

"I can't imagine any city being more daunting." He hadn't gotten to learning about Las Vegas yet.

"Well, every city's got its own style, you know?"

"And Fandom's style would be distinctly strange combined with utterly interesting," Jonas decided. "Very attractive to an outsider."

"Well, distinct, anyway. Dunno if any local would be down calling it strange."
