Behind the Dorms, Tuesday Afternoon

"Hey, guys!" Zack was all smiles as he stepped in front of the Reserve gathering, today. "Since we got some more of that talking stuff out of the way last week, this week I'm going to get you all doing something a little more hands-on, taking an idea that the Magic Reserves had a while back, and tweaking it a little to better suit our purposes here!"

Because Zack was totally a rotten stealerface. And it had been a good idea.

"The thing you have to keep in mind when you're on the field is that a good bit of your strength often rests in whoever you're out there with. And, taking that a step further, nobody gets left behind. Not just because they're an asset, but because they're our people." Zack managed, barely, to refrain from getting all shmoopy and saying 'friends,' there. "But it's entirely possible that at some point, you're going to find someone trapped behind enemy lines, and it'll be on your shoulders to get them back."

He gestured to a pile of ribbons sitting on the ground, half of them red, and the other half blue. "Take one of these, and put it on your clothing somewhere, so that it'll be easy to snatch off of you. And then I want to break off into two groups according to the color of your ribbon. Each of your teams gets one of these..." He motioned to a pair of stuffed bears sitting on the ground. "They're prisoners. It's your job to infiltrate the enemy's territory, retrieve your lost ally, and then make it home safely. But if anyone from the other team snags your ribbon while you're on their turf? Sorry, guys, you're dead."

... Yeah. They were totally playing 'capture the flag.'

With teddy bears.

Ino was going to be nibbling on a cookie, with a juice box, and giggling at the whole idea. It was a good idea! But--teddy bears! Oh Zack.

Mat looked at Zack, then at the teddy bears, then very carefully not at Arthur. It would hardly do to burst into hysterical laughter.

So Jacob decided to show up again. He had his reasons, which didn't necessarily have anything to do with. Cookies, possibly did.

Illyria found the cookies slightly too sickeningly sweet, but somehow couldn't bring herself not to nibble on one anyway. She blamed it on the weakness of this body.

After spending a few moments glaring at Illryia, Gunn got fed up with himself and marched over to talk to her.

"All right," he said crossing his arms. "I just got one question for you."

Actually he had quite a few but he'd rather just as the one and get it over with.

Red ribbon? Blue ribbon? Either way, you have a few minutes to plot your next course of action with your team. Distractions? Different jobs for each person involved? Get creative. Goodness knows, the other side is going to be, too.

"Okay," she declared mostly in general. "Isn't this activity more geared towards stealth and speed? Those of us who are normally, well... tanks, we kind of get an unfair disadvantage."

Which to choose... which to choose? Blue matched his fur, but red matched his uniform.

At the moment, it looked like blue had more people so he went with red.

And he eyed the bears with a bit of a sly grin. "Someone tell me I'm not allowed to cheat."

Rescue Your Ally!

Let chaos reign! The line splitting the two sides of the exercise is roped off halfway across the grounds of the dorms, and then sectioned off far enough back that both red and blue teams have a small chunk of the preserves to run around in, too. Use whatever you have at your disposal to get the job done! But... please, don't actually hurt one another. Just steal their ribbons. And their bears.

Zack was standing by the dorms, watching the goings-on with his arms crossed over his chest and a little grin on his lips.

Okay, so he probably could have come up with a better target than the teddy bears, but he really hadn't had it in him to go into Dite's shop for a pair of blow-up dolls...
