5th floor common room - Morning

Jacob had woken up to a lot of snow, a powerless dormitory and a growling stomach. The latter two had cause a problem because cornflakes were just cornflakes and Jacob wanted to more. The blizzard hadn't caused much of an obstacle, not when you could change into a werewolf built to brave cold weather. He'd been across the island in a flash and while he'd gotten some strange looks for showing up in just a pair of jeans at J,GOB, the baker hadn't asked any questions. Which was once more evidence of how much the people on the island had gotten used to situations like this and luckily, the bakery had a back up generator. So Jacob had gotten a huge bag full of pastries for 'those poor students'. He suspected that J,GOB hadn't really been expecting a whole lot of customers.

So now, said bag had been upended on the dinner table. The bag itself had been thrown into the bin in Jake's room. It wouldn't do to have anyone take notice of the teeth marks on it. Jacob lay sprawled upon the couch in just a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, his hair still a little wet, while he munched on a muffin. In his boredom, he might just end up eating his way through the stack of food.

Best not to let him stay bored.

"Oh absolutely," Dru nodded. "It's just like a campfire, only a bit more contained. My grandmother used to buy them for me as a treat and we'd cook them in her fireplace."

"We didn't really have open fires back home." Now that he thought about it, he wondered why. Fire would have only affected himself and Silas so there was no worry of danger. "Are they good?"

"They're delicious. Very sweet, so you can't eat too many of them." At least Dru couldn't. "But very tasty. You've really never had them before?"

"We didn't have a lot of campfires back home," he shared, still wondering why they hadn't, really. "It's strange, now that I think about it, because we should have. It would have been safe. I just don't think anyone thought about it. So no, I've never had toasted marshmallows."

Dru wondered a bit about it being safe, but some people just lived differently. "We're going to have to fix that. With all the food squirreled away in the cabinets, there has to be a bag somewhere."

"And if there's any day to do some experimentation with things I haven't tried, this would be the day," agreed Bod, rubbing his hands together for effect. "There isn't much else to do, after all. I like snow but I wouldn't go out and enjoy myself in this."

"No, maybe after it stops we can go sledding or something. But for now, indoors is the place to be," she agreed. "We'll have to go on a search and acquire mission in a bit."

"That sounds like it'd both be entertaining and allow us to keep warm with the movement and all." Of course, he was finally starting to warm up what with the fire and all. "I wonder how long it'll be like this."

"I don't know," Dru admitted. "I don't make a habit of watching the weather so I didn't even know we were going to get snow. But it can't be more then a day or two maybe?"

"I wouldn't know either way. I've seen rainstorms last a week or longer before." England seemed built for rain, though. "And since snow is just frozen rain, I wouldn't be surprised if this continued. The lack of power is what makes this uncomfortable. I've gotten used to it again."

"You've gotten used to power again? Where were you before that you didn't have it?" she asked curiously.

"A graveyard," he said easily. "I grew up there."

"A graveyard?" Dru repeated, automatically trying to sense if he had any feel of the Real World. "How? Why?"

"How? Just like you'd live in any other place, I suppose. The ghosts took care of me. So did Silas," he provided casually. Bod was finding out that explaining what was normal to him a little difficult when it was odd to others. "As for why, because the ghosts adopted me when I wandered down there."

"You're lucky, most of the ghosts we've dealt with haven't been the kind and nurturing sort," she said. "Who's Silas?"

"My guardian," he provided, nodding. "You've dealt with ghosts in your time?"

Dru nodded. "My dad hunts Real World stuff and I help him. Where I'm from the Real World is all the supernatural stuff, things like zombies, werwulfen, poltergeists, ghosts that are haunting a house. Most people just think they're stories, but they're real. I've seen them."

"I don't doubt it." He'd seen them too, after all. "The ones I know, they don't need to be hunted. They're not at all dangerous now. During their living years, they might have been but no more. I'm finding that most people think ghosts are dangerous."

"Maybe, but I'm willing to believe that some aren't," she replied. "I mean for all the weird and scary Real World stuff that I've seen, there's still things out there that are just trying to live their lives. Even if they happen to be voodoo priest."
