5th floor common room - Morning

Jacob had woken up to a lot of snow, a powerless dormitory and a growling stomach. The latter two had cause a problem because cornflakes were just cornflakes and Jacob wanted to more. The blizzard hadn't caused much of an obstacle, not when you could change into a werewolf built to brave cold weather. He'd been across the island in a flash and while he'd gotten some strange looks for showing up in just a pair of jeans at J,GOB, the baker hadn't asked any questions. Which was once more evidence of how much the people on the island had gotten used to situations like this and luckily, the bakery had a back up generator. So Jacob had gotten a huge bag full of pastries for 'those poor students'. He suspected that J,GOB hadn't really been expecting a whole lot of customers.

So now, said bag had been upended on the dinner table. The bag itself had been thrown into the bin in Jake's room. It wouldn't do to have anyone take notice of the teeth marks on it. Jacob lay sprawled upon the couch in just a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, his hair still a little wet, while he munched on a muffin. In his boredom, he might just end up eating his way through the stack of food.

Best not to let him stay bored.

Bod was used to cold weather but he was definitely not as hardy as Jacob so he padded into the common room, bundled up in jeans and a t-shirt covered by a heavy sweater.

"You're up early," observed Bod, smothering a yawn. His eyes, having adjusted easily to the dark light, noticed the food and the fireplace. "The power's out?"

"Nah, you're just up late," Jacob smirked and he craned his head back to look at Bod. "Seems so. I was hungry so I figured I'd make some toast but... Not so much going to happen now. It seems the entire island is out."

Didi waved to Bod. "Powers out, and it looks like there's a ton of snow outside," she informed him. "Hi."

Karla gave the new male a cheerful nod and a wave while she filled her plate with pastries. "Kiss kiss," she said. "Help yourself to a witchlight," she offered, nodding towards the little globe of silver light that hovered at her shoulder.

Wrapped in a blanket, Dru made her way through the dorms looking for people to explain what the hell was going on.

Food would be an added bonus.

"Morning," she said when she came into the common room.

"Morning, Dru, Jacob waved from the couch. He only had to think a moment to remember the girl's name as there'd been a lot of people to remember.

"Help yourself." Because he wasn't going to get up.

"Hullo," said Bod, giving a nod at the girl he didn't know. He would have waved but his hands were busy being warm.

"Morning," Didi returned. "Do you think cold chocolate would help nearly as much as hot chocolate?"

Elena was dressed in layers. Lots of them. And a blanket wrapped around herself like some sort of cape. You got used to power outages and cold weather under the Plate, but that didn't mean she had to like it.

The inviting crackle and hiss of the fire had lured her in.

"So is it just the dorm, or the whole island?" she asked, to the room and everyone at once.

"Whole island as far as I could tell," Jacob replied, glancing up at her. "I brought food. Morning."

"Just from looking out the window, I'd say it's everywhere but the visibility is rather poor," he answered, smiling over at Elena.

Didi managed a smile from inside her own pile of clothing. "It looks like everything," she said. "I couldn't see any lights on outside from my window."

"Kiss kiss," Karla said, sitting down next to Elena, several pastriest firmly in hand. "If we're drinking wine to stay warm, it's not too early, right?"

"Go team blanket." Diana greeted her, flapping her own blanket. An annoyed meow came from underneath the cloth somewhere.

"Elena," Spock said to his roommate as he stood there, shivering stoically. "I bid you good morning." Even if the morning was far from good.

"Oh, good, people," Didi declared as she wandered up the stairs and into the common room. She was dressed in about fifteen layers of black clothing. "Is there hot chocolate?"

"I haven't tried heating anything over the fire yet," Jacob said. "There's probably milk in the kitchen so cold chocolate's possible."

"Kiss kiss," Karla said, nodding Didi's way. She would have said more, but that was all she could fit between bites of pastry.

Witchlight delivery made, Karla poked her head into the fifth floor common room--and stopped when she saw the pastries. "Kiss kiss," she said, coming further into the room, her own silver globe bobbing behind her. "Please tell me those are for sharing. I'm starved."

Making one witchlight was a negligible amount of Craft. Making enough for the entire dorm was another matter entirely.

"I don't think I could eat all those alone," he said. Not that he wouldn't damn well try.

He titled his head, watching the light... thingie. "What's that?"

Bruce wandered into the common room wearing a nice, warm turtleneck. He didn't look terribly uncomfortable but, then again, he didn't show emotion very often at all. "Is there any coffee?" he asked.

"Nope," Jacob replied, "but if you don't mind setting it the old fashioned way, I'm not going to stop you."

"Sweet Baby Jesus," Gunn muttered as he shuffled into the common room wearing what appeared to be three hoodie sweatshirts at once. "Who the fuck turned off the electricity?"

Yep. California boy bitching about the cold.

Jacob was snickering at Gunn's swearing. "I'm going to guess it's the blizzard outside, but I could be wrong."

Diana stumbled out of her room in a sweater and a blanket (and pants) and was more than happy to see people and food. "Who turned off the heat?"

"I did," Jacob deadpanned. "I thought it'd be funny. You don't agree."

Spock arrived in the common room in search of warmth, wearing several layers of clothing with his blanket wrapped around him. Vulcans + cold = very very bad.

"G-g-greetings," he said, shivering pathetically pathetically.

"There's hot chocolate." Diana informed him, wrapped in her own blanket.

Okay, there was colder than Mississippi, and there was colder than Hell. Emmett woke up, shivered his way into some clothes and a blanket, then out of a roomieless room down a hallway that was just as frozen.

"Is it freezing in h--" Since sticking his head in the common room door answered that question, Emmett settled for making a beeline to the fireplace. "Oh, praise the Lord and pass the marshmallows."

"I think you're going to have to move your ass to the kitchen for that," Jacob was staying on his couch, dammit. He'd already gotten pastries and burned his fingers on the hot chocolate.

Okay, so the power outage was a little inconvenient but the weather? The weather had Bobby in... pretty much the best mood he'd been in since Asgard, actually.

"Is that food?" he grinned, spotting the mountain of pastry. 'Hello' was for other people.

What? It was a stupid question, he could give a stupid answer.
