Third Floor Common Room, Afternoon

Marco really, really hated the cold. But unlike everyone else, he didn't actually need to deal with the cold and lack of electricity as a human. Which is why there was a polar bear sprawled in the third floor common room, seemingly almost happy with life.

The polar bear was also playing with a Coca-Cola bottle. And old school, glass Coca-Cola bottle. Just because he was cold, didn't mean he had lost all of his sense of humor.

[ooc: Open like a common room with a polar bear is open]

Hurley had wandered down a couple floors, forgetting that heat rose and that it would actually be warmer on his own floor.

He entered the common room, and just sort of froze.

omgwtfpolarbear.

"Dude," he said.

"Uhhhh, hi," Hurley said, just trying to casually walk to the fridge. "Nice, uhhh. Fur."

"Uhhhh, thanks," Hurley said, slowly approaching to take the cola. "Nice bear. Nice."

"Dude," Hurley said. "I... you are the coolest polar bear ever."

Joan wandered down to the common room to heat up some water for tea and smiled when she spotted the polar bear.

"That's totally cheating," she said.

[identity profile] joan-notjane.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"You should be sharing that warmth around," Joan said. "The rest of us don't have the ability to spontaneously be covered in fur."

Well, maybe a few people did, but she didn't know about it.

[identity profile] joan-notjane.livejournal.com 2010-01-17 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Joan smiled. "I think I'll have to take you up on that offer."

Even though it was possibly a very bad idea. "I was going to make some tea first though. I, uh, don't suppose you'd want some?"

[identity profile] joan-notjane.livejournal.com 2010-01-18 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, I don't think giving a polar bear a bath would be much fun," Joan admitted.

[identity profile] joan-notjane.livejournal.com 2010-01-18 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, yeah, that would suck," Joan agreed, filling the kettle with water and hanging it over the fireplace to heat up.

Joan shrugged. "Cause there's a metric ton of snow outside?"

Priestly had finally made it out of his room, Ramone tucked away under his shirt.

He blinked when he got to the common room.

"Well, that's new."

It was hard to tell if he meant the fireplace or the polar bear.

Priestly nodded back, having been here long enough that he was only a little bit perturbed by there being a polar bear in the dorms. "'Sup?"

Well, that was new. "Probably a lot warmer, yeah." He tilted his head. "I think I'll stick with a hot drink today, but, uh, thanks."

Priestly had to snort at that. "You getting a decent check from that?"

"You have people." Priestly shook his head. "Man. Some bears have all the luck."

Priestly rolled his eyes. "You've clearly not had a properly prepared veg-and-meat combo."

"Yeah, well, that's because you're a bear."

Okay, probably not.

Momoko wandered into the common room, once again in her coat, mittens and scarf, and stopped dead in her tracks. "You're a polar bear!" She pointed, rather obviously, at the polar bear.

"Is it that cold out?" Momoko grinned cheerfully, mostly out of instinct. "Are you invading or just visiting... Wait, you nodded at me. You can understand what I'm saying?"
heromaniac: (smile hello)

[personal profile] heromaniac 2010-01-18 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah! So sweet! Thank you!" She took the cola with a smile. "Well, you're obviously friendly. And since you understand me, you're probably not from out of town, or at least you're not invading with your penguin army. Are you a friends with the teal deer, too, maybe? Like the reindeer that were here a while ago?"

"Hmmm." Momoko took a drink and considered the existence of a friendly, soda-offering polar bear in the common room. "Well, if you're a student, I hope someone's told you that this happens. Although usually people turn into cats or rabbits, but I guess since it's so cold out? You should be back to normal by Monday, I think. People usually are! Well, My roommate was a cat for a bit longer, once, though." She patted the bear on the shoulder. Or as close to a shoulder as she could reach. "It'll be okay. Oooh. You're actually very soft!"
