The Preserve, Wednesday Afternoon

It wasn't as cold as it had been over the weekend, but Karla was still bundled up pretty warmly as she addressed the members of the Magic Reserves from behind a steaming cup of cocoa. "Feel free to help yourselves to the warm beverages," she said, pointing to the table off to the side.

"Since the island saw fit to dump an awful lot of snow on us," Karla continued, "we figured it's only right that we incorporate it into this week's meeting. After all, knowing how to maneuver in the snow is important." Or something. "And so is being able to use whatever you have at hand as a weapon if you need to."

Yeah, that sounded good.

"So, today we're having a snowball fight. Divide up into two teams and use whatever powers you have at your disposal to keep you and your teammates from getting pelted by snow. Anything goes, so long as no one gets hurt!"

She pointed over to a stretch of the Preserve that was still relatively pristine. "There's the field of battle. Go for it!"

"You're cheerful." Dinah grinned back at her, not as dorkily. "And I heard Katchoo on the Radio last night. I'm guessing she survived a week of bunnyhood just fine?"

"All parts present and accounted for!" Sliiightly too chirpy there, Francine. "I mean. Hands! And feet. And no tail. Those parts."

Goofy girl. Heh. "Ears?" Dinah grinned. "Whiskers? Or will she bite me now for asking?"

"She still has ears! Just not furry ones." Francine gave her a snicker. "Don't give her any ideas about biting people. Her teeth are bigger now."

"Good to know," Dinah said mock-solemnly, and grinned. "And Merlin's day tomorrow?" she said, keeping her voice way down. "Any suggestions for prezzies?"

"Owl toys?" Francine grinned. "Or maybe a gift basket of antibiotic and cartoon bad-aids for all the scratches."

Dinah shook her head, snickering. "A turtleneck? Or maybe a neck brace. Why must he cuddle the un-cuddle-able?"

"Because it's a baby owl," Francine said, as if that was the silliest question in the world. Because it kind of was. Baby. Animal. The end.

"Well...." Dinah could see that, yeah. Because awwwww. "Right. And maybe a computer game or two, he likes those." She grinned. "How's everything else going?"

"Fine." Liiiiiiies. "Really." Just this time they were lies of the understatement variety. "I mean, I can finally stop chopping carrots every night, so that's good."

"I remember how thrilled I was when Tony stopped stalking and killing my pillows every night," Dinah said, nodding in sympathy. "Yay for that." Of course, Katchoo was her girlfriend, so. Extra bonus points there.

"Katchoo's done worse things to my pillows as a human than she ever did as a bunny." That sounded more innocent in her head.

And it startled a giggle out of Dinah, too. "Ahem. Sorry. That sounded... anyway!" She shook her head, amused. "Did she use any for art?" She wouldn't put it past her.

"Pillowfight!" Facepalm. "Pillow. Fight." Oh right, this was Dinah. "...And possibly some drooling."

Dinah chortled at Francine's reaction, then her eyes widened. Hopefully. 'Cause, that would be yay! "Ohhh?"

"...Don't you ohhh at me."

Dinah composed herself, smile still lurky. "No ohh. Sleep over, yes. Got it."

"People do that all the time!"

In someone else's room when their own bed isn't three feet away.

Dinah nodded enthusiastically. Not. Giggling. Nope. "You have to be careful how you use up those pillows on sleepovers."

"...And also where your turned-into-an-animal roommate is when they turn back." Shut up.

She was forbidden from going ohhh now, so that just left Dinah slapping hands over her mouth to drown out the squeak of giggles.

"Whooops?"

"Whooops." Shut up. "But it, um. Worked out okay."

"All of it...?" And yay for really being able to hope that's true, without a twinge at all.

My, look how fuzzy those mittens were. "...So far?"

"Yes!" Dinah clapped her own multi-colored gloves together in delight. "High-five! High-five! Go you! Go Katchoo!"
