The Preserve, Wednesday Afternoon

It wasn't as cold as it had been over the weekend, but Karla was still bundled up pretty warmly as she addressed the members of the Magic Reserves from behind a steaming cup of cocoa. "Feel free to help yourselves to the warm beverages," she said, pointing to the table off to the side.

"Since the island saw fit to dump an awful lot of snow on us," Karla continued, "we figured it's only right that we incorporate it into this week's meeting. After all, knowing how to maneuver in the snow is important." Or something. "And so is being able to use whatever you have at hand as a weapon if you need to."

Yeah, that sounded good.

"So, today we're having a snowball fight. Divide up into two teams and use whatever powers you have at your disposal to keep you and your teammates from getting pelted by snow. Anything goes, so long as no one gets hurt!"

She pointed over to a stretch of the Preserve that was still relatively pristine. "There's the field of battle. Go for it!"

And Francine wasn't eying that snow with trepidation at all. She was too busy eying him with confusion. "Katchoo being a bunny?"

It was a very careful snowball. "Katchoo turning back from a bunny."

"Oh. True. I didn't need to bring her to your room at all." Snowball. Which reminded her of just how freezing her room had been all weekend. "Which is probably good since you weren't in it."

Merlin cleared his throat, dropping the snowball and turning a spectacular shade of red. "I--er--yes. Busy."

Ooh, score! And she hadn't even been trying to disarm him. "At least somebody was warm this weekend." Funny how she couldn't seem to manage looking grumpy, though.

"Er.. yes." Awkward. "Have you--" He flailed his hands as though that would explain things for him. "--given more thought to things? With her?"

Only constantly. "Things?" Yes, now she was just being horrible. And it would have worked like a charm if her face hadn't turned almost as pink as his.
