The Pool, Saturday Night
After Jennifer had the unfortunate incident with the gremlin and the glass of water that morning, she'd been wary about any big water source.
And then that night, she remembered there was a freaking pool under the dorms.
She had shouted a bit on her way down, hoping someone might come along for the defense.
The last thing they needed was their beloved dorm basement to turn into a spawning field. Dressed in her gym clothes and heavy boots, she was ready to stomp some little bitey-green guys.
After all, she had a perimeter to defend.
Standing by the pool, she kept her eyes open, trying to spot any of the things before they'd try to take a little dip. She wondered if she could get away with finding a couple car batteries and just electrifying the water...

handwavybattles with the damned things. He heard Jennifer calling and followed her down to the... holy crap, pool. Big thing full of water. And a bunch of small creatures heading toward it."Shit!" he yelled. He cast a Wizard's Lamp spell and a bright light flared in his hands. It burned out a moment later, but it had slowed the creatures for a moment.

She shuddered. She decided talking about them like they had family wasn't good for her psyche if she was crushing them.

He sent the Powershot at the nearest creature and it disintegrated in a nasty-smelling poof, leaving a pile of sticky black goo.
Okay, good. He wasn't on the floor yet. He had to pause for a minute to catch his breath, though.

"I don't suppose we know how to... drain the pool, do we?"

But that's when the little things got the bright idea to start swarming her, and she was soon practically covered in them.
"God, hands to yourselves, you little punks!" she said, letting out a little yelp.

He'd spotted a couple of pressure valves, switches and a few pipes in one section across the room. If there was a built-in pump, it'd probably be there. Across the room. With a few bazillion nasty creatures between him and it.
Tony readied another Wizard's Lamp spell. This was going to have to last him more than a flash, if he planned to survive this (and he was very in favour of surviving this.) "Okay," he said. "You ready?"

Hey, light banter helped it seem less grim.

"Come on, get some!" she said. And instantly regretted it. It was a pretty poor line, and the gremlins actually snickered at her.

Was that a faint *glug glug* sound or was that just a gremlin chuckling?
"Um. Anything happening with the water?"

"...there's a cover," she said, watching it spread out over the pool. It was sturdy, too. Metal. "Well, this won't look great on my transcript."

She punted another gremlin into a crowd of its comrades. "Helping them."

He fucking hated shadows.

"You're... pretty amazing," she said, between gasping for breath and punching what gremlins dared to go near her.

She knew she'd done a lot of the work, but... she'd have lost it without his help.
