Fourth Floor Common Room | Evening | 1/26
Hayley had spent too much time cooped up in her room. She decided to come out to the common room, and started to occupy her time by putting together ingredients for an omelet. Her efforts, however, didn't turn out so well. She burned the first one, and by the time she got to trying it again, she actually ended up burning her hand.
With a scream, she flung the frying pan off the stove. Which thankfully wasn't hot enough to actually start a fire or anything when it clanked across the floor, leaving an eggy, cheese splatter in its wake. She was just so angry that she couldn't manage a simple meal, as she ran her hand under cold water from the sink. Her tears were both of pain and frustration. She just felt so useless, right then.
[ooc: Open! Feel free to distract the poor girl.]

She paused in her cleaning. "Wait, girls read comics?"

She looked up at Hayley, confused. "And yeah, girls can read comics. I do! Back home they even make comics for girls!" Not that Momoko owned many of those kind, but she did have some.

Hayley tended to shy away from comics, for certain reasons.

"Well! There's ones where the girl gets magical powers, or finds out she was born on a different world or maybe one of her parents is some magical being or has special mystical powers! Ah! And sometimes there are ones with magical animals that help her out, too."
"Or, sometimes, the story is just about a romance. Oh! Or there's one where this girl wants to be a volleyball player only they don't have a girls team, just a boys team? So she tries to start one only the boys keep sabotaging her! And then her mom tells her she isn't allowed to do sports and in fact can't even go to that school at all! Or, or! Like, that one where there's these three girls and they all have different lives and stuff and they accidentally meet up in the big city and they all have the same name! So they become really good friends in the end. Except one dies... I think."
She kinda didn't finish that one.

She had a convert? Wahoo! She was beyond excited.

"Just not my thing," she said, affecting a laugh. "So self-righteous, you know?"

look that upthink on that."Ah! Sorry about that!" She replied. She sat back on her heels and wadded up her towel full of egg goop. "But I do have other ones too. You should come look at them sometime!"

"Uhm. Sorry! I didn't mean to say something weird, it's just that I'm a big fan of them." She hesitated to ask, but, "did you maybe have a bad experience with one? AH!"
She waved her hands wildly, some egg flying from the towel in her hand. "No, sorry! You don't have to answer if you don't want to. I know sometimes people don't like to talk about stuff, and, like, there's this one friend of mine who used to go here who had a superhero problem and he didn't like to talk about it and we fought over it, too, but in the end it was good to get it out so he felt better and we totally didn't break up over it! So if you want to talk sometime, we can!"

She reached down and cleaned up what egg was left. "Lots of fun, really."
no subject
"Well, having a friend to help certainly makes cleaning up nicer, but it's still not fun." She moved to shake her eggy bits into the trash. "Let's hurry up and finish so we can get something good to eat!"
