Fourth Floor Common Room | Evening | 1/26
Hayley had spent too much time cooped up in her room. She decided to come out to the common room, and started to occupy her time by putting together ingredients for an omelet. Her efforts, however, didn't turn out so well. She burned the first one, and by the time she got to trying it again, she actually ended up burning her hand.
With a scream, she flung the frying pan off the stove. Which thankfully wasn't hot enough to actually start a fire or anything when it clanked across the floor, leaving an eggy, cheese splatter in its wake. She was just so angry that she couldn't manage a simple meal, as she ran her hand under cold water from the sink. Her tears were both of pain and frustration. She just felt so useless, right then.
[ooc: Open! Feel free to distract the poor girl.]

She was muttering obscenities under her breath.

"The omelet is probably worse off, to be honest."

She frowned. "I wonder if there's some burn creme or something we can put on that?"

She harrumphed but softened after a moment. "Burn creme might be nice."

"I never said you were stupid, silly, I was just reminding you. Especially since sometimes people here don't know about stuff like that. I met a boy once who, ah!" She found the kit and retrieved the creme. "Here we go! Anyway, he thought the TV was a box that had people trapped inside it!"

"I remember," she replied with a raised eyebrow. "I'm well and you seem... bouncy."
no subject
"Yep!" She gave a small salute. "Bouncy and good! I'm feeling much better today than I was this weekend, you can be sure! Were you going to make an omelet, too?"

She grinned. "I was fighting too, but it wasn't fun like it usually is."

She was going to throw accusations at the act of cooking, so she didn't feel bad about failing at it.

Her hand was going to sting for a few days, that was certain.
