Cheerleader Tryouts -- The Gym, Sunday Morning

Savannah got to the gym early to set things up for try-outs. She had mats and tables pulled out, with refreshments available for both the current cheerleaders and those trying out.

There was a table arranged with clipboards for the squad members to write notes as they watched the hopefuls try-out. There was also a portable stereo for those routines that were choreographed to music.

It was time for try-outs for the Fandom High Gremlins!

Ronon wasn't sure he was the most awesome, but he was definitely there for his cheerleaders. He'd even watched the Bring it On-athon on Saturday to prepare for this.

Sunday mornings were not Hannibal's peppiest time so anyone expecting any high energy actions were going to be left out in the cold. Hannibal would be on the mats, stretching but he was more trying to wake up than anything else.

Didi didn't have much idea what she was doing here, other than that it seemed like a funny idea at the time. So she was pretending to stretch, but mostly just watching everyone else to see what they did.

Robin checked over his gremlin mask to make sure it was in good repair. The tips of the ears were starting to look a bit frayed.

Chloe was still trying to figure out how she had gotten talked into this.

But, K-Mart and suggested and urged, and when Chloe called Tori about it, Tori had dared...

...and so here she was.

Of course Jean was stretching. It was important you didn't want to give people the wrong idea on the a Saturday morning cartoon.

It might have helped that she was an athlete most of her highschool time before this.

Harper was nervous but hoped that it didn't show. She took her time stretching and warming up until she was ready.

"Hi, I'm Didi and I'm a junior," Didi said calmly, and then launched into a routine. It was short on gymnastics, long on slightly spastic dancing and posing, but her smile through the whole thing was impeccable.

"I'm Jean and I'm a senior," she said, waving cheerfully at the judges. Even if Dan Humphrey wasn't among them.

And, so maybe she wasn't a gymnast, but she at least never had to worry about falling in her repetitive, low quality animation movements.

"Hi, my name is Harper and I'm a junior," she said before starting her routine. What she lacked in coordination, she made up for with plenty of enthusiasm. She at least had some of the basic gymnastic moves and a couple really good jumps.

The whole thing felt goofy to Didi, but she picked a cheer from the book and went for it with everything she had.

Hey there! Hey there!
Gremlins say, "Hello!"
Sit up high or sit down low
Gremlins say, "Hello!"
We got spirit
We got fight
Our whole school's
Out of sight

She waved on the heys, jumped and crouched on the "sit up high or sit down low", and did a high, jumping split on the last line.

Oh yeah, this was going to be interesting.

That was completed with the proper amount of rhythmic clapping that cheerleaders were so fond of.
