First Floor Lobby, Throughout the Day

Jennifer was the one at the lobby table today, stockpiled with various V-Day miscellanea.

She was fiddling with a sudoku puzzle when people weren't around to buy flowers for the Student Council sale or dance tickets for the Valentine's Day dance.

She also had a tiny card of her own on the table, which read 'Now accepting date offers'. It looked a little desperate, she admitted, but it was worth a shot.

She'd be around most of the day, except when she was at Justice and Law. Eventually she'd move on from the Sudoku to the crossword.

She'd be grateful for the distraction.

"Harry Truman Doris Day, Red china Johnny Ray, North Korea, South Korea Marilyn Monroe, something something baseball, blah blah blah blah ozone, fa la la la la la Marilyn Monroe..." Leda had been singing but realizing she didn't know the words to the song very well, trailed off, and came over to see what was up with Jennifer instead.

"Hey you."

"Hey you back," Jennifer said. "Would you like to purchase some fine tickets to the school dance?"

"Why yes I would. Wouldn't mind a date to that dance either, but somehow I suspect I'm not your type."

"Sorry, not exactly," Jennifer said. "Since I have a feeling you'd want to go as more than just friends." She still smiled at Leda.

"For a Valentine's dance, definitely." It's a good thing she was in a good mood or this whole topic would depress her greatly. "Guess I'll just get one ticket and hope to find true love at the dance."

"Good plan," Jennifer said, holding out a ticket for Leda. "Hope springs eternal, right?"

"Exactly." she nodded. "Especially on V-Day."

"I need some of that hope for myself," Jennifer said, grinning. "Not a lot of boys like green around here, apparently."

Leda rolled her eyes. "Stupid boys."

"No kidding," Jennifer said. "But then again, I guess I can't help it if I'm more fabulous than they can handle."

"Someday a man who can appreciate a real woman will come along." Leda assured her.

"Some day, my prince will come," Jennifer sing-songed, before chuckling. "You're always a peach, Leda."

Leda beamed. She herself was keeping her options open. Prince or Princess would suit her. "I try. You should see me when I'm in a bad mood though. Grr, argh."

Jennifer just kept smiling. "Very scary. I definitely wouldn't like you when you're angry."

"Eh, no one does, that's why I try to stay so upbeat."

Just be sure not to Rock your ticket or flower sales. Then the Modders and the Rockers might have to do battle.

Tax season can be over now, please.
