Jennifer was the one at the lobby table today, stockpiled with various V-Day miscellanea.

She was fiddling with a sudoku puzzle when people weren't around to buy flowers for the Student Council sale or dance tickets for the Valentine's Day dance.

She also had a tiny card of her own on the table, which read 'Now accepting date offers'. It looked a little desperate, she admitted, but it was worth a shot.

She'd be around most of the day, except when she was at Justice and Law. Eventually she'd move on from the Sudoku to the crossword.

[OOC: Mod your sales or play them out! I'll be unavailable until 7 pm Central. Stupid work. But I'll respond to all tags when I get home!]

Edmund wasn't sure why he felt compelled to cook an ever-growing pile of grilled cheese sandwiches, but the pan was still hot and he kept making more. They were always good cold, he reasoned, and really, doing something was better than watching the very strange, badly dubbed Japanese game show on television.

The smell of grilled cheese wafted out of the room and down the hall. Mmm grilled cheese. There might have even been cans of tomato soup in the cupboards.

"Today," Arthur announced, "We are returning to a mainstay of our reserves. Sparring. Some of you have done this before, some of you haven't yet: find a partner with a skillset fundamentally different from your own, and face one another. See about each other's strengths and each other's weaknesses. Discuss it afterwards. See what you can learn."

A pause.

"Also, I'd like to have your ideas about a potential invasion drill we might be running. Obviously, if we do stage such a drill, it won't be exactly as discussed here, but you are all welcome to bring your own notes and such to the table. Thank you."

Liir was baking.

Not only was he baking because he wanted to provide something delicious and freshly baked for the inhabitants of the dorm, but he wanted to bring a set of a very specific kind of cookie to work with him tomorrow for his boss.

The cookie was a favorite, of course, but more specifically, it was the first cookie that he'd ever made with Miss Lulu: a rather naughtily named confection of chocolate and hazelnut which had provided more than one laugh over the, goodness, two years or so since he'd come to the Island. And now she was back, Miss Lulu, and Liir could scarcely think of anything else.

Makejoy was just chuffed that Liir seemed to be out of his funk.

[open as a common room is + chocolate and hazelnut cookies!]
