The Roof, Saturday Morning
It was kind of cloudy out. It was still somewhat chilly out. It was entirely too early in the morning, and Warren wasn't sure why the heck he was even awake yet, but here he was.
He'd made his way up to the roof to give his wings a stretch, because those dorm rooms were way too puny for anyone with a wingspan like his, and he stayed up there, contemplating getting his nagging urge to fly out of his system before he'd find himself crammed into a coat and harness all over again for a week in the Bahamas.
... Of course, it still seemed like a fair trade-off. Flying for the Bahamas. He'd spent a lot of his life not flying. He could handle a week, for the sake of the sunshine. Right? Right. Of course, right.
"Of course, it had to be addictive," he mumbled, giving his head a little shake, and then jumping. A few laps around, and he'd be good, he figured. Just enough to get the feel for the wind through his feathers. It was too cold to keep going for too long, after all. But maybe once he landed, he'd be able to warm up for a bit and then go about doing it all over again.
He was getting better at taking off. He didn't look quite so much like somebody had tossed an unsuspecting chicken from the roof as he used to.
[Open roof is open! Warren will be playing his game of 'fly, land, thaw, repeat' for most of the morning.]

And it was too early to start packing, so up to the roof she came. Hey, there could be a person with extra cigarettes there!
... Or, apparently, a flying Warren. Huh.

"Kate!" Warren rubbed his hands together in a vain attempt to warm up again, still wearing an exhilarated smile. "Good morning."
It was kind of hard not to grin like an idiot after executing a landing that didn't involve tripping all over himself. Give him a moment, he'd settle down soon enough.

She hadn't seen it from this perspective before, after all.

"Ah, the kid with the wings," he muttered to himself, lighting his cigarette and watching his arc across the sky.

"You know," he said, almost conversationally as he folded his wings at his back, "it's still too cold for that."
Somebody was going to have to invest in more wind-resistant clothing, apparently.

Ten minutes later he was in a form-fitting and slightly ridiculous outfit, but he had wings, too, dammit, and that was what was important.
"Hi!" he called, waving.
no subject
He glanced down at the greeting, and then laughed, banking hard to the right and coming in for a (mostly graceful) landing.
"Good morning, Ben!" A pause, and would Ben excuse him for a moment while he grinned like a total dork? "And Ben's wings. Can't forget those."

And practically skin-tight. But whatever.
"So much better than talking about babies or Battle School," Karla called, winging her way over to him.

Hopefully Raven would forgive him for staring? He was still in the process of figuring out if the bird was going to try to eat him, at this point.

She paused for a moment on the ledge
to give anyone on the ground a chance to chat with herand then flung herself into the air with an Eyrien whoop.no subject
Warren laughed as he circled around to meet her. He was going to freeze his butt off if he didn't get down to land soon, but there was something about sharing the sky with people that was entirely too awesome for him to want this particular flight to end any time soon.
"Good morning! Great day for a flight, isn't it?"
Just, you know, chilly.

"I came up here early, thinking that it was bound to be quieter here than it is in the evenings. Who in their right minds gets up this early on a Saturday?"
He looked around the roof, pointedly.
"But then, who on this island is actually in their right mind, right?"
