The Preserve, Wednesday Afternoon

It was a beautiful day in Fandom, which meant that it was perfect weather for the Magic Reserves to spend sometime outside and having fun--while practicing magic, of course. "Kiss kiss," Karla greeted, once it seemed like everyone had assembled. "We're going to shake off those winter blues with a game today. We're going to play Capture the Flag!"

Merlin nodded cheerfully at that. "Use of magic or powers is acceptable and encouraged as long as you don't, you know, try to actually harm people."

"Green cookies for the winners!" Tony said, waving at a box of J,GoB cookies on a nearby table. Which were, in fact, green, and decorated with lifelike-looking shamrocks. "Or, you know, for anyone who wants a cookie." He pulled the top off a bin of the familiar flag football belts. "If someone grabs one of your flags, you're out. And to make it a little tougher, you can't grab the flag with magic or TK." He grinned at Kennedy if she was there.

"But you can use magic in other ways," Karla reminded, glancing curiously at the green cookies. "So be creative, okay? People may want to think back to other games we've played for inspiration. Have fun!"

Being back outside means snacks again! Or, in this case, a lot of drinks with the green cookies off to the side to serve as a tantalizing prize.

Karla would also like to know why these green cookies were okay, but her green cookies were declared a health hazard.

And ruthless efficiency, but that one wasn't exactly relevant in regards to the other two points.

Francine had a glass of limeaide and the vague thought that bringing cookies to meetings means you never have to engage in physical activity in order to earn them.

Which was frankly a valuable take-away idea for that other club too.

Tara wandered over to Francine just after Karla finished talking, mostly because it had been a while since she'd said hi. "S-so how are your capture the flag skills? 'Cause mine are, um, not."

Francine winced. "I'm good at getting captured?" she offered.

"Maybe we could claim cookies for that?" Tara asked. "We could say we got captured the best."

And her fingers were already sneaking out to tap Francine on the shoulder the second they said "three."

Oh, Kennedy was around, definitely, and making a mostly-playful rude gesture at Tony from her usual spot in the back. Mostly playful, because the whole not-having-any-powers thing was still eating at her, which showed in the occasional slight frown.

Zack was there, yes. Possibly mostly because if he wasn't there, then he'd be back inside the dorms, and he was pointedly trying not to make a hermit of himself, lately.

Now, whether or not he was going to participate depended on how badly he wanted a green cookie. Hmmmm.
