Third Floor Common Room, Saturday Evening
Not exciting, but fun: Dinah had ordered pizza, made popcorn, and had pop out for whoever wanted it, while she clicked on the Chiller marathon of Darkest Night. The usual theme music swelled, the vampires swooshed across the screen, and hello, Lee's shirt getting ripped. How she'd missed you.

See the calm tone? See how her ears were not pricking at this potential Dinah was showing.

She cleared her throat, and said, "We were going to spar, no powers. We didn't get around to that before you had to go home."

She paused, reaching for another piece of pizza. "Momoko and I were in Baltimore, and Shiva ambushed us." Never mind why there were there! Maybe they were shopping. Or something. "Gas grenades. Then kicking Momoko out, and me as well. And then drove to an abandoned warehouse, where she had all these traps set up. She's sneaky and intelligent. Bad combination to be up against. And a really, really good martial artist."

"Sneaky indeed," Azula said. "That's a smart trap, it sounds something I would do under different circumstances."
Still, it didn't sit well with Azula that someone had the gall to kidnap a student of hers without permission. "On the other hand, you did learn something."

And perhaps say a thing or two about messing about with another person's student.

And good thing Azula refrained from saying that, because for all Dinah knew, she could've *killed* Shiva, and killing Azula would've been hugely, tremendously awful. So yeah, no.

There was an unexpected spike of something when Dinah mentioned her graduation. "I suppose after you leave that's it? You move on and you live your whole life in New Gotham?"

"That's good. Its not good to forget allies," she said. "Jaime? I think I've met him. Nice but forgettable."
no subject
And noooo, right, backing down on that, no reason to give Azula any suspicion of Jaime's Scarab or identity. "I don't forget friends, or allies." She gave Azula a sideways smile. "Or former teachers who are friends."
