Third Floor Common Room [Brunch Time]

Joan hadn't been terribly surprised to be woken up by a child this morning. She was kind of glad it was a child she recognized, even though she was mildly disappointed that she didn't seem to have a future child with her boyfriend.

Then again, she was grateful it wasn't the kid with the wings to give her tiny heart attacks all weekend.

Jared was starving so she led him down to the common room and started making pancakes, figuring there might be other folks in a similar situation.

"I know you from somewhere, don't I?" asked Hoshi. She couldn't even place the little girl's accent, and that had her really confused.

Carmela giggled. "You could say that, Mommy. You've known me all of my life," she said with an innocent little smile.

"Mommy, huh?" asked Hoshi. "You know, I've been waiting for you to show up all morning! So, what's your name, anyway? Yoshiko?"

"Nope, I'm Carmela, named after Aunt Carmela, of course," she said.

"Aunt Carmela. Of course," said Hoshi. She remembered the last time she saw Carmela -- at Ronan's birthday party. And last year she had a child with Ronan...

Hoshi really needed to stop jumping to conclusions.
