Sixth Floor Common Room, Wednesday Evening [WARREN'S BIRTHDAY PARTY!]

Through some miracle of timing, Bobby had actually managed to get everything for Warren's party set up earlier before heading off to Karla's.

Now, though, it was Warren's turn. Hopefully people would still have room for even more food after a BBQ, because the amount of food two brilliant bakers plus one person with access to a very good catering service was impressive.

At least people could work all those excess calories off in the ball pit?

You can do that too. There's a chocolate/vanilla marble cake, brownies (but not Those Kind of Brownies, tyvm) and just about any kind of food under the sun, really.

Possibly while on a horse. Plz to wait for him to ping in!

I love not getting hangovers.

With a BAMF! and a puff of foul-smelling smoke, Kurt arrived in the room.

And was on a horse.

He looked down at the horse. The horse craned its neck to look back at him, and started chewing on the ribbons of the presents Kurt had brought.

Kurt had brought a couple (http://www.home-n-gifts.com/items/33811.html) of (http://www.home-n-gifts.com/items/38958.html) boxes (http://www.home-n-gifts.com/items/12725.html) that were all nicely wrapped and tied together with lots of sparkly, dangly ribbons.

There may have been a theme.

"You're on a horse," Bobby remarked. Yes, this was still a novelty. Shut up.

With Warren being one of the first people he'd met upon arriving, Bod didn't want to his birthday. He wast still feeling a little melancholy about a few things and was dutifully trying not to let it show.

He snagged a bottle of water from the vastly filled food table and wandered quietly around the room, not quite sure what to do at a birthday. He didn't even know his, after all.

What you did was mingle! And lucky for Bod, Bobby was here to help with that. "Dude!" he grinned. "Good to see you here."

Kurt shrugged and 'ported a few feet to the left.

"No, I'm n..." he began to say -- before realizing that he was, in fact, on another horse.

He looked at his new horse... and back at the old horse. And back at the new horse. And back at the... no, the old horse was gone again.

He blinked at Bobby. "Did you just see that?"

"Thank you for the invite," Bod said, giving Bobby a nod and a smile. He could push his melancholy away for that. Brooding could be done on his own time. "How old is Warren, if I can ask? I'm still particularly bad on keeping up with these sort of things."

Karla, still buzzing from the excitement of her own party, was there and grinning! Like she'd miss the birthday celebration of her flying buddy and birthday twin? She was just happy that Dinah and Bobby had planned it so well.

One would think that Karla'd had enough to eat at her own party. That person had clearly never actually met Karla.

"I did," Bobby had followed Kurt's gaze with the back and forth. "It happened to me when I was trying to set things up," he admitted. "Well. I just had one horse. But it's hard to balance a cake when you're on a horse."

"Um," way to go, Bod, making Bobby think about something he hadn't actually thought about. "Seventeen, I think?" He'd never actually asked, huh. It had been surprising enough that Warren had been in the same grade, honestly.

"Oh my god!" Bobby wandered up, pretending to be surprised. "What are the chances I'd run into you again so soon?"

"Bobby?" Karla asked, blinking. "Is it really you? It's been so long! I barely recognized you!"

"I've changed so much, I know," he said solemnly. "That's what arranging fruit and deli platters will do to a man."

For a guy that had wings, Bod thought his gift would work out well enough when Warren was in the air. Hopefully, said gift wouldn't break at extreme heights.

"I was just curious if it was one of the apparent important ages," Bod explained, shaking his head. "Sixteen and eighteen seem to have particular significance. Warren's right in the middle, it seems. Hopefully that doesn't seem seventeen is too boring for him."

"Does that mean I should wait a few minutes before I go ravage them like a birthday girl-shaped locust?" Karla asked, snickering. "Out of respect for your hard work and sacrifice?"

It was entirely possible that Warren was eighteen. Bobby would have to check.

"Yeah, somehow I don't think 'too boring', is something he'll have to worry about, at least while he's here," Bobby pointed out.

"No, no," Bobby shook his head. "I was just doing what had to be done, you know. Not even the horse could stop me." He was so dedicated. To food.
