Peter Bishop was not a fan of having his worldview rocked. He typically considered himself a very smart and rational human being.

Seemingly being dumped fifteen some years in the future was not a concept that gelled well with rational and scientific thought. It honestly made him feel like he was going crazy, no matter how much his conversation with Jacob had reassured him.

So Peter slunk into the couch, unable to concentrate enough to read. Instead, he flipped on the TV and proceeded to be horrified by the program that was on. Who thought it would be a good idea to film crazy new Jerseyians and put them on TV?

"Besides," she added, wrinkling her nose, "I'm not going to sit in a common room with some guy I barely know and tell him about my non-existent sex life while using 'tabs' and 'slots.' How trashy."

It didn't help that her boyfriend was in the same room, too.
