Tim decided to put Claire's lesson to use and make himself some dinner. He found the pot she'd been using, boiled water and added the pasta. And then added some more because he was pretty hungry and it didn't look like it would be a lot of food. And a little more, in case someone else wanted some.

Scully opened up the refrigerator, and found three jars of spaghetti sauce, mostly full, and a little bowl of parmesan cheese. "I've been cooking a while. But it's more fun when it's for someone else. How are your classes so far?" She slid him a look. "Find anyone else to sneak up on?"

"Not as easy on land," Tim said. "You're in the one today, right? The, uh... you know. That one."

Scully smothered a smile, and briefly contemplated teasing Tim about it, but abandoned that in favor of, "Yes. Unfortunately. I don't need help getting dates." Getting dates that weren't homicidal, maybe, but she really didn't see how a class aimed at teenagers would help. "I'm not sure how seriously to take it."

"I'm sure you get plenty of dates," Tim assured her. "That syllabus is something else, huh?"

"Next week is going to be appalling," Scully said in tones of doom. "But I have to admit I'm curious about the 'special Fandom edition'." Because yes, the phrase You realize she's only two, right? had had reason to stick with her. She raised her eyebrows at Tim. "So what did you think of it?" Since he was the target audience, after all.

"Either the teacher's a major freak or he's messing with us," Tim said. "I'm going with the latter option. He doesn't seem too freaky."

"I'd hope not," Scully said without thinking, then winced. "...and we move on and forget I said that. Now."

"Okay," Tim said. "Anything else weird happen to you lately?"

"I met the pastor of the church in town. Who claims to be an angel." Scully shook her had. "Actually, that was more confusing than weird. He's clearly dealing with something very intense, but I do wonder how he got the position as the church's minister."

"He's probably a very spiritual person," Tim said. Mental note: possible angel in town. "Some of the great religious leaders were considered insane in their time," he added.

"Considering the looks of bafflement on the faces of the congregation following his sermon, I'm not sure that's in the offing," Scully said, mouthing quirking up. "Although I did have a nice talk with him, and played with the kittens." She shook her head. "What about you? Any strange encounters to report?"

"Nope, the waterslide room's probably the weirdest thing this week," Tim said.

"I haven't seen a gremlin yet, either," Scully said, meditative. "Although I owe my Big Sib an apology for thinking she was hazing me."

"Assumption of hazing is a totally natural response to this stuff," Tim said.
