Roy's stuff was all packed up, ready for him to head out tomorrow. He'd found a cheap apartment in a crappy part of New York, and he had a job lined up working at an outpatient rehab clinic. Heading group therapy. He still wasn't sure why they thought he was the man for the job, considering some days he still didn't feel all that recovered himself, and he probably would stay in it exactly until he found something else, but...maybe he could help some people, you know? And he needed the money for rent.

In the meantime, he had one last thing he had to do before he left town: make chili. He'd been wanting it, and...well, it was always funny when someone tasted it for the first time, so he hoped some unsuspecting kid would drop by. Even superheroes have their evil streaks.

Sure, it was cold out. And sure, it was dark. And kinda uncomfortable come to think of it.

Tony frowned at his seat on the edge of the roof, already starting to think of a way to make the roof heated. Because that wasn't going to be a bad idea that would end with whatever he created gaining sentience and trying to kill him.

Really.

But, for now, it was sulky emo thoughtful brooding. Take that Bruce Wayne.

After spending part of yesterday giving his equipment a solid field test as he learned how to fight a giant robot, Bruce felt that today was a good day for quiet reflection, a short break from training, and watching a couple hours of shows about real life crimes on the Biography Channel. He wasn't sure why there was a two hour block of crime shows between Finding Hulk Hogan and I Survived... or if this was a regular thing, but it gave him something to focus on and take notes about discreetly in a small notebook.

Yes, this is how he liked to spend lazy Sundays.

While Roy was aware that things were...weird today (and possibly for the last few days), he was also aware that he was hungry, dammit. So he was in the common room with way too much pizza. Also, no shirt. What? He was overly warm. He thought there might be something wrong with the heating system.

((Open common room is open for socializing, traumatizing, overshare...izing.))

After getting back from Colorado, Bruce got some dinner from Ching Tai. Unfortunately, they gave way too much food, so he set up in the common room. If people were hungry, they could take. He could have done that and gone to his room with his food, but he figured that would prevent him from seeing how other people were reacting to the gender switch. And really, his want to be left alone was easily overruled by his curiosity.

While he was in the common room, though, he wasn't touching the TV. It would end up stuck on the Style Network or something if he did. He could deal with being a girl, but that was asking too much.

[OOC: Open like a gender-neutral common room.]

Sookie had had better, and less upsetting days. That afternoon, her brother had actually finally returned a phone call -- not to really check on his baby sister, though he did ask after her, but to tell her that he couldn't come to visit that weekend.

But that wasn't enough. Scarcely ten minutes after getting off the phone with Jason, just as the sun was going down, her phone buzzed with a text.

pam & i coming to visit. arrange accommodations. sleeping in the ground is hell on hair.

Because that was exactly what she needed. Eric and Pam, in Fandom. All weekend. Terrorizing her friends and teachers and people who could conceivably be either of those things, but now wouldn't, because some stupid vampires had ruined it.

Wonderful.

So Sookie was in the common room, whisking her second batch of banana pudding. She'd already poured the first batch over vanilla wafers, and admittedly, maybe she was whisking a little harder than necessary. She had some aggression to work out. But at least there was pudding coming out of it.

Bruce was just going to walk past the common room and back to his dorm after his morning run, but a glance into the room meant that he saw one of the more bizarre sights he'd seen recently. There was a disembodied hand holding the remote control. It was channel surfing. Occasionally it would use the on-screen guide and scroll quickly through that.

As Bruce walked into the common room to investigate more closely, another hand went flying through the air. Out of pure instinct, Bruce raised his hand. The second Thing made solid contact with Bruce's hand, making this the first high five Bruce had ever experienced with a disembodied hand.

A small detail, but Bruce noticed both hands were left hands. It seemed strange to have two lefties in the same room, especially under these circumstances. All this weirdness meant that Bruce needed to take a seat and just observe for a while. He couldn't shake the feeling that the second thing was observing him right back, possibly looking for another excuse to high five. The first one, clearly, was too busy observing the TV.

[OOC: Just saying, if I were a disembodied hand, I would never stop giving high fives. Anyway, I'm up early on a Saturday, why not have an open CR?

Bobby had nachos.

Lots of nachos.

More nachos than could possibly be eaten by one teenage boy, even a teenage boy with a ridiculous metabolism.

Which is why Bobby (and the nachos) were out in the common room with a Z-Cases rerun playing. The one about the zombie mutant killer mosquitoes.

Puck was bored as hell. He'd gone and loitered outside of stores in town, mostly for old times' sake. He'd finally just bought a six pack of Nattie Lite and taken it back to his room. But even then, beer hadn't really been what he'd wanted.

But, he'd made a much more important purchase: Puck had finally -- finally -- gotten himself a Squishy from Turtle and Canary. And while they weren't as good as the slushies from McKinley, he was sure he'd find a way to make it work for him. He hadn't been able to get grape, but they'd had blue and red, so he was still able to make purple, and that was basically what grape-flavored things tasted like, anyway. Like purple.

Now, he was sort of loitering in the fifth floor hallway, trying to decide if he should try and find a common room, or just go get drunk or something. So many options to consider.

[for one, and then for spectators. :D]

Tim decided to put Claire's lesson to use and make himself some dinner. He found the pot she'd been using, boiled water and added the pasta. And then added some more because he was pretty hungry and it didn't look like it would be a lot of food. And a little more, in case someone else wanted some.

[Open with food, 'cause he's making way more than needed!]

So... Bobby had never been up to the sixth floor except for parties and that one disastrous baking attempt with Sookie. Today, though, he was bored and wandering and... wondering where that random, unmarked door led.

The answer was, apparently, to a hallway with more doors. Bobby then opened one of those doors and...

"Whoa."

Bobby made a few calls, because holy crap this was way too awesome to keep to himself, and then settled in to wait for people to arrive.

[ooc: YES. RETURN OF THE SIXTH FLOOR ADVENTURES. Bobby called a whole bunch of people, and in his excitement probably called more than a few random numbers, if your character doesn't know him but would like an excuse to come play. MINOR OCD ONNAWAY UP.]

Bobby and his three pints of ice cream were not sulking about this whole goodbye business, really. He was just... adequately prepared for the Really Strong Guy Who Can Fly movie marathon that was on television at the moment.

There were also several containers of Chinese food, because clearly the obvious remedy for people-leaving emo (not that he had any of that, really) was to attract people with the use of food.

Despite the fact that Puck was still nursing his wounds from the other night, he decided to actually make an appearance in a common room tonight. He brought his guitar out with him to tune, idly plucking out chords as he ignored whatever was quietly on the TV.

He'd kept that on for the sole purpose of entertaining him while he was tuning, since as soon as he got it fit to play he was going to try and get back in practice. His hands weren't even as callused anymore.

[this post is brought to you by my needing to have some pretty Mark Salling playing the guitar, and also my inability to even think about purely working on finals.]

Dinah had put up a few posters in stairwells - PARTY ON SIXTH FLOOR, ROY'S LATE 18th BIRTHDAY! - this morning on the way to work. She had a cake that had arrived special delivery from Alfred early today (with buttercream icing and chocolate ganache to die for inside), ice cream that she'd picked up a while back, and some silver and gold foil balloons and noisemakers scattered around the room.

Plus, of course, there was the ball pit.

Being inside eating cake and goodies was a lot better than being out in a fog with imaginary and real monsters in it.

Really, she ought to be asleep despite the ridiculously early hour. A weekend spent with little sleep and using loads of energy meant by all rights that she should be dead to the world at the moment. Ino had spent about an hour after her last class staring up at the ceiling before giving that idea up for a lost cause and wandered out to the common room to see what she could find that was entertaining enough to keep her from getting bored.

Normally Ino wasn't much of one for movies, but poking around turned up The Continuous Tale and it looked interesting enough for her to stare at while she tried to convince herself to unwind enough to actually sleep. Score!

That decided on, she made popcorn (because if she was going to do this movie thing, she was going to do it right) and curled up on the couch, hitting play. And, okay, maybe snuggle into a blanket as well. That counted as part of the whole movie thing, right? Right?

It totally did. She could even be convinced to share, if asked nicely.

Okay, not actually had Bobby had class today, he'd also done the homework he'd busily been avoiding on Monday.

To celebrate this, there was pie from J,GoB.

Lots of pie from J,GoB. It seems they'd baked a few two many turtle pies and wanted Bobby to take the extras off their hands. Bobby had misundertood at first, of course, and had thought they were offering him a turtle for every pie he bought.

But really, who would do that? That's just silly.

As Mat had mentioned a few times, Mat couldn't cook with modern technology. But roasting things over a fire?

That, he could do.

So there he was, bundled in a few layers, roasting a few rabbits over the fire and feeling more homesick than he was willing to admit.

After a trip to the grocery store, Roy was ready to actually fend for himself for once, and what better to make on a chilly January day than some nice, spicy comfort food? That was right. Roy was making chili. From Oliver Queen's recipe. One teaspoon cayenne, three tablespoons chili powder, and a healthy dose of Tabasco sauce. God help the unwary.

While it simmered away on the stove, he sat down and grabbed the remote to see what was on TV. This was shaping up to be a good night, really. Chili, TV, and the entertainment value of rookies experiencing chili that tasted like fire for the first time. Yeah, he had no complaints.

And for the record: Yes, he did have functioning taste buds. His sanity...well, that was more questionable.

Having all of his classes tomorrow didn't mean Bod was going to stay in his room and make it an early night. He'd thought about taking another walk down to the graveyard but decided to save that for later in the week. There was time and Bod knew neither he nor the graveyard was going anywhere for awhile.

So, he'd wandered down the hall, book in hand, to the common room. Yeah, he knew he could have just closed himself in his room to read but the common room was bigger and had food. Food that Bod immediately started scrounging for. It was a little difficult to do considering he was holding his book open with one hand and reaching blindly into the refrigerator with the other. He'd pulled out the box of baking soda three times.

Putting the book down would have been easier, Bod knew, but not as fun. So, he kept trying. That box of baking soda got pulled out two more times.

It ws morning, it was Monday, and Arthur was in the salle, going over the edge of his own sword to make sure it was still decent for actual combat. Sure, sharpening the thing wasn't strictly his job, but he liked to make sure just in case something showed up.

He was also still mildly cranky over the phone thing, but it wasn't like mildly cranky and Arthur were strange bedmates.

In a shocking change of pace, Sookie made her way out to the common room in the evening due to some rumblings in her own tummy, and poked through the fridge to see what she could put together.

In the end, in an actually shocking change of pace, she took the lazy girl's way out, and ordered Chinese. And since she was hungry, she ordered way, way too much food -- that was always the problem with ordering out. Everything always sounded amazing.

So, Sookie was curled up in front of the TV within moments, channel-surfing and picking at a plate of food from Ching Tai. She didn't even feel guilty about not cooking for once. Everyone was allowed a day off.

There wasn't a lot to do today. That fact didn't particularly bother Bod, though. He'd learned to find entertainment in the smallest things so making his way down to the common room seemed like a logical place to start.

Of course, once there, a few options were presented. He could find something on television to watch. He could spend a few minutes flipping through the channels to find something good to watch and the probably settle on something boring (he'd spent time in hotels, he knew how television worked) or he could try and make himself something to eat.

Now, that option made him hesitate. While he'd been in the graveyard, Silas or Miss Lupescu had done the majority of the food getting. Since leaving, he'd mostly stuck with fast food and prepared meals. This would almost be cooking.

Okay, no it wouldn't. There was cereal (something called Captain Crunch to be exact) and Bod figured he could manage a bowl, milk, pouring and a spoon. Still, it was more than he tended to do. With that done, he was free to find something boring on television.
