Main Campfire | Afternoon | Sunday | May 23

The cabins were a bit of a change. Bod wouldn't necessarily call them a bad change but they were going to take some getting used to. He still had his own space and his privacy but it was lessened now and he'd have to remember that. After doing some unpacking, he'd wandered out to main campfire and taken a seat, taking advantage of the overcast day. He really didn't need to end up sunburned on the first day even if he knew about Karla's sunburn salves now.

So, he was out there now, a book resting on one bent knee and back against one of the logs. He knew it wasn't much of a change from what he tended to do on quiet days but Bod saw no reason that a change in setting would mean a change in routine.

[Oooh, a campfire post! Open, of course!]

Ariel's nose wrinkled, at least at the uncomfortable and painful parts, and then lowered her head. This caused some of her hair to tumble forward, and she pointed to it, looking through the strands at Bod questioningly, wondering if he ever turned as red as her hair. Because, let's face it, that was pretty red.

Not only was it cute, she figured, but it never hurt to bring it to people's attention that she really did have fabulous hair.

Ariel then looked sympathetic; after all, it was a shame, because her color red was an awesome color red.

But she smiled and gestured at the cabins, taking a second to point toward her own, Zombie. And then looked to Bod to ask which one was his.

Really, now? Ariel's interest was clearly piqued to learn that she shared her cabin with at least one cute boy, and the prospect of others made the tight fit not at all a problem. In fact, she now was looking forward to this whole cabin thing much, much more. She had no idea if the cabins were at all tied together like room assignments; she didn't think so since she was pretty sure Delirium wasn't with them, but she would be excited to see if she not only had Bod in her cabin, but also Bod's even cuter (sorry, Bod) roommate, as well...

...Ariel may have drifted off a little there, looking like where she drifted was a very nice place indeed. She shook her head, got back to the here and now, and pointed to herself a moment before making with her hands, as best she could, a letter B followed by the number 4, to indicate her number.

That would definitely make it a win-some, lose-some situation, to be sure.

Ariel's nose wrinkled a little to find that they were at opposite ends, even if he did have a point and even opposite ends of the cabin probably still put them closer than they were on their regular floor. But the offer to find him if she needed anything put a smile on her face, even if she couldn't make any clever jabs about sunburns in return.

Which was probably for the best, too, since she didn't understand them as much as she was thinking she did and it wouldn't have been a very good jab, besides.

Ariel didn't have even the slightest clue on how she could be helpful to Bod regarding cabin life unless the cabin was suddenly submerged into a singing and dancing undersea wonderland, but she couldn't help being enthusiastic about the prospect of being helpful. Her smile, bright as usual, said as much, matching the exuberant bobbing of her head. And a thumbs up for good measure. After all, with the two of them holding down the cabin at both ends, how could it be anything but the best cabin ever?

That smirk on Ariel's face was probably preventing her aw, shucks response to that from seeming 100% genuine. It was, however, still a heck of a nice thing to say, so she couldn't help a pleased smile, and a little batting of her eyelids in appreciation.

And that? Was just too cute for Ariel. She smiled warmly at him, which she thought might be the only way show him how he shouldn't lose it either, but then realized that she could just reach over and pat him encouraging on the shoulder, so she went to do just that.

Her optimism certainly wasn't going anywhere, either.
