Main Campfire, Sunday Night

Tim had eaten, of course, once he and Jason got back this morning from their still being played impromptu camping trip, but he still felt like he hadn't had a good meal in days. So he was down at the main firepit with hot dogs and buns. He'd built up a small fire and was roasting a hot dog on a stick.

Raven had been stretching her wings, so to speak, after the storms of the afternoon had passed, and was soaring over the campsite in the form of her Soul-Self. When she saw someone lighting the campfire, she decided to come down and be social. And so she was now appearing in a burst of black smoke. "Hello, Tim," she said, giving him a smile. "I hope I did not startle you."

"Whoa, hey, Raven," Tim said. "That's a pretty neat trick."

"I was flying up above and saw you light the fire," Raven said, settling on a log. "It is nice that it has cooled off after the storms today."

Peter jerked back when Raven showed up. But after his initial shock, he smirked.

"I give it ten out of ten for style," he said.

Raven blushed. "It is how I move between dimensions," she said. "I am sorry that I startled you."

"Ah, hot dogs," Peter said, sitting down near Tim at the fire. "Breakfast of champions."

Yeah, he knew it wasn't breakfast time. And also hot dogs for breakfast would be gross.

"Find anyone willing to wrangle gremlins yet?"

"My cooking skills are somewhat limited," Tim said, offering Peter a hot dog and stick. "No, not yet. Though I'm not actively recruiting right now."

"Well, there isn't a whole lot you can do with an open fire, either," Peter said. He took the offered items and started his own roast. "I just hope my father doesn't get wind of our little idea. He might try to do it himself."

Bobby was in a ridiculously good mood as he wandered out to the campfire, lured in by the possibility of food.

"Tim, man, how's it hanging?"

"Hey, Bobby. Hot dog?" Tim offered Bobby a stick. "You look like you've had a good day."

"Don't mind if I do!" Bobby chirped, taking the offered stick. "My girlfriend just got back after being out of town for a couple days," he explained with a grin.

"...how is what hanging?" Raven had to ask.

"Uh," Bobby ran a hand through his hair. "It means, like, 'what's up?', basically."

Miles figured there was no way of avoiding this camping vibe, no matter how hard he tried to hide in the cabins. He picked a site where there was already a fire going (because he was too lazy to make his own), and sat down on a log. Camping. Woo. Awesome.

"Hey man," he said. "Mind if I hang out here?"

"Hey! Join us," Tim said. "Want a hot dog?"

"Uh, sure," he said. "Wait, they're free right?"

Sookie had smelled hot dogs (no, not the smell of them cooking or the fire, though she'd caught that too) and decided to wander out. Even if she was self-conscious, a little. "Evening. Are you sharing, Tim?"

"Sure," Tim said. "Want me to cook you one?"

Raven glanced over at Sookie. "Hello, Sookie," she said, studying the other girl. "You are looking...smoking hot very well."

"Hey, you," Bobby drawled, moving to sit next to her and offer a quick kiss on the cheek.

You know those days when everything kind of fails you lose internet, your laptop dies, you lose your character app? Karla was having one of those days. She'd gone to sleep with her window open, which meant with the rainstorm the books piled in front of the window had gotten soaked. She'd tried to go hunting for herbs in the preserve and had gotten caught in the downpour. A shield had kept her from getting drenched initially, but then she'd slipped in some mud and fell down a slope and into a puddle. Nor had things improved back at the cabin. Halfway through her washing the mud from her hair, the hot water had run out, leaving her to finish up with cold. And returning to her alcove, she realized that she'd left her window open, which meant that the books piled in front of the window had gotten soaked.

So it was a sulky Karla that headed to the campfire, too dispirited for even a "kiss kiss." She settled for a half-hearted wave instead.

"Hey," Tim said. "Do you want a hot dog?"

"Karla!" Bobby greeted cheerfully, and then noticed his friend's own less than cheerful expression. "Why the long face?"

"What's wrong, sweetie?" Sookie asked, catching Karla's mood pretty quickly.
