6th Floor Common Area, Friday Evening [Puck's birthday party!]

Tonight, the sixth floor common room was the site of a tea party in honor of Puck's 17th birthday.

Kate had been slaving away (although without complaining about it) most of the day in preparation for the party, baking sweet things to eat, selecting the appropriate classical music to be played in the background, and making sure the white tablecloths were immaculate.

And they were. Kate was sure a fine young man such as Puck would approve.

Bod, who wasn't displaying any effects of the current weirdness because work killed the mun's creativity, wasn't quite expecting this sort of party when he'd gotten the email yesterday.

With Puck's gift in hand, he sort of just stared at the room around him and listened to the music playing. He hadn't guessed this was Kate's sort of thing but maybe it was just something he hadn't learned yet.

Still. He felt weirdly out of place.

Would it make him feel a little less out of place if his girfriend was to come up to him, in her dress and her cute knit cardigan and her red lipstick and her high heels, completely channeling some perfect little housewife from decades ago?

No? Too bad, because it was going to happen anyway.

Even if Hannibal's debilitating shyness normally kept him from things like this, he was going to make the effort for his friend, Puck.

Still, he immediately found a space on the wall to try and hide because that was just the way he felt more comfortable. Much easier.

Christian liked the decor, but he could only stay at the party a moment. It was taking him away from the studying he had to do to be a proper businessman someday. Even as he delicately sipped his tea, his mind was on his book of actuarial tables.

There was little time to waste on girls or being social tonight; all he really wanted was to curl up with some nice, logical, facts and figures. They were the truly important things in life.

Kate thought the truly important things in life were all about being presentable and making sure other people were happy. Hence coming over to talk to him, as well.

Not exactly dressed up for a party like this, with a flannel shirt (http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/6559/skins4081205.jpg) over her dress and leggings, but Elizabeth was actually looking positive, and clutching a mug of tea soon after she came in with shockingly little eyerolling at this little party.

Here for her friend, and actually feeling content. That was... unusual.

Um, hello. Birthday party for the boy with whom she'd had the most chance of breaking the spell. Of course Ariel was here.

With a tilted, curious head because it wasn't at all the party she would have expected.

(She liked the girly party so much better...)

But a party was a party! Ariel made a little cheer of excitement in her head, lifting her arms with the universal gesture of let's party!

Ellie was not going to miss Puck's birthday party. Besides, she wanted to have a good time after a day of classes. But this was not exactly the party atmosphere she was expecting. This was just...weird.

Hopefully there wouldn't be any ice cream here. He hated the stuff.

Tahiri didn't, at first glance, look like she was acting any differently today than usual -- unless you noticed a certain more rigid nature to the way she walked.

That had everything to do with the shiny, clunky black pair of military-issue boots she wore with her flight suit, actually.

And she was quiet. Very, very quiet; it might be difficult to get her to talk at all.

The Cake is from the bakery in town, and there is enough for everyone despite the way that picture looks!

Also, it totes says 'Puck' and '17th'.

Puck, in a beautifully crisp white shirt tucked into some flatteringly pressed gray pants -- and of course, sporting some suspenders (heaven help him if his pants should fall!) made his way up to the sixth floor after receiving Kate's message. He hadn't the foggiest idea as to whatever it could be, so when he arrived and took in the sight of the common room, he was -- indeed -- quite pleasantly surprised.
