4th Floor Common Room - Monday Afternoon

For once Rose didn't feel like being outside - something about the humidity or the thunderstorms or whatever. She didn't feel like being in her room which still felt too empty without Morgana there either so she found herself down in the common room with the music turned up loudly.

Even better, in the refrigerator, there was a tube of chocolate chip dough. Rose eyed it warily. Should it be eaten with a spoon or should she try to make cookies? The oven was on and a cookie sheet was out, but the possibility of ruined cookies was high once they actually went in the oven. Difficult choices for a Monday afternoon.

"Something's wrong with this scene," Jake decided, observing from the door. Whether he was talking about Rose baking or the lack of actually cookies in the oven remained to be seen.

"You're right," he agreed easily. "My face's way too handsome to be dragged down by your looks, but you shouldn't be so worried about me. You won't drag me down."

"Too bad the rest of the world hasn't caught up then," Jake smirked and he stepped forward. "So are you just exercising the oven or are you going to make those?"

"Dude, these things come with instructions on how high you need to set the oven and how long they need to be in there," he pointed out. "What's to ruin?"

"Fine, I will," he chuckled and grabbed the tub from her. "I knew something was wrong about this picture."

"I know, I do have that impact," he agreed, placing little piles of dough that would possibly become cookies on the plate. "I'm a self reliant man. It's impressive."

"Oh don't pretend you don't know," Jake smirked at her. "I've seen you ogling me. Can't get enough of my manliness."

"You should know since you live here," he rolled his eyes at her.

"Awwww, you're making me feel all warm and fuzzy," he put his hand over his heart, grinning at her. "Okay, let's get these babies in the oven."

"I'm glad you finally recognise that, baby," he snorted and glanced at the oven. "Was the turning knobs hard?"

Jake laughed loudly. "That was terrible," he told her. "Just so you know, absolutely awful."

He pulled the oven open and slid the platter inside.

"Oh, but I surrender. Now way am I beating that level of terrible," he said, turning back to face her once the cookies were in the oven. "You're the queen of terrible."

"When you make one in cookie dough," he said. "I'll even put it in the oven for you. See? I'm nice."
