Main Campfire - Morning before classes

Weather still too hot. Check. Cabin stinking of leeches. Check. Half naked boy. Check. Half naked boy eating. Check.

Hopefully those thunderstorms wouldn't take much longer to reach the island, but for now it was dry and Jake had taken up position at the main campfire. There was a bag from J,GOB resting on the ground between his feet. He was planning on just eating it all by himself, but if you'd ask nicely enough he might be willing to share.

That actually took some thought. "A little," Didi decided, since it wasn't as if she ever bossed death gods about. Much. "In his universe. In this one, I work for him. But he said I could have all the gumballs I want."

"You know that's just going to bite you in the ass right?" Jacob reasoned, because his brain was going to break less if he concentrated on the mundane part of this. "Once things go back to normal, he's going to want free candy or whatever as compensation. He might just start up a union."

"I'll worry about that when it happens," Didi said, since a lecture on that not being exactly how things worked probably would break poor Jacob's brain. "Until then, gotta live in the moment with free candy, right?"

"I'm gonna help Claudia break into this lab this weekend," he admitted, figuring that it might be a good idea to at least have one person know in case something went wrong.

"There's a reason," he hesitated, not sure how much Claudia would like him to tell. "She thinks someone she thought dead might be alive, and I figure if she's going to go out there she might have the best watching her back. Right?"
