Toffee Campfire, Friday Early Evening
The sun wasn't quite down yet, no, but Jono had gone through the pains of lighting a campfire (the good old-fashioned way, yes) and had made himself comfortable not too far off.
There was something about watching a fire with a smile on his face that he could totally get used to, he decided.
Well, that and S'mores. He could totally get used to S'mores, too.
You better believe that he was enjoying himself this evening, roasting marshmallows and singing. Loudly. He didn't even need to pull out his guitars for that!
[Open campfire yay!]

It had been a long while since most people had looked at him with anything besides pity. Or worse. He was still reveling in it.
"You like it? I'm actually rather fond of it myself," he replied, amused. "The whole, Jono-has-a-jawline look. Could very well grow on me."

Apparently, Ariel was having a whole conversation in her head with her hands and shoulders that just kept going on although likely anyone, even a telepath, was probably lost well past hair. She didn't seem to bothered by this, however.

So, while he was certainly paying attention, his expression had gone from bemused consideration to confusion to perhaps a touch of awe at what was starting to look less like communication and more like manic interpretive dance by the moment.
"No more wrappings," he said, at length, once he was worried that his eyes were going to cross. "You can hold me to that, luv."

...important to her, anyway. Ariel's eyes widened a moment, and then she laughed. Hey! Now he (pointed to Jono) could go running around(little fingers like legs jogging in the air) with her (point to herself), in the rain (fingers on both hands now dancing and descending a few times from the sky) without cute little redhead (again, indicating herself) having to (and now she hoisted up something very clearly invisible and stubborn) carry them off!

"Yes, yes I suppose that's true too, hm?" He was still grinning by the time he managed to straighten up again. Being able to laugh was so liberating. "I'll have to coordinate a wardrobe for just that purpose. Sitting around in th'rain."
A pause.
"Dancing around in th'rain. If I'm going to do it, I might as well make it count."

So... Many... Marshmallows...
"I suppose th'sugar helps, too."

Ariel bobbed her head, thanking Jono for reminding her as she built another tower, this time with chocolate pieces, and shoved them into her mouth.
Another thing that was great about junk food? She could shove a ton of it in and still talk with her mouth full!

Jono laughed and nudged the bag of marshmallows her way again.
"I could toast one of these for you, if you'd like to make s'mores out of it," he noted. "Or are you enjoying finding out just how much room you've got for it all in there?"

Sushi and Thai food, however...
...Ariel was not thinking about sushi or Thai food right now, just delicious graham crackers and chocolate and fluffy marshmallows. To Jono's offer, though, she just shook her head. For all her pyromaniac tenancies, she actually didn't like her s'more toasted...
...actually, she didn't like them toasted because of the pyromaniac tendencies. Too many marshmallows sadly charred beyond consumption. Too many flung carelessly, dangerously into the darkness of the woods...
Sigh.

Look, just because he'd been on fire since he was seventeen didn't mean he wanted to spend the rest of his life eating raw food.
Food. Fire. Good.

If she had the capability, humming happily would certainly be in order here.

"That's another use for them, I suppose, yes."

The tower wavered a little in an errant breeze, but still held firm due to its strong base of graham cracker.

And Jonothon's marshmallow had lit on fire while he was busy gaping anyhow. He sighed, giving Ariel a wry smile before scraping the burning mess against a log, and then making a reach for the stack of sugary things.
"I hope you don't want me to eat this all in one go, luv."

He had his mouth out! He should put it to good use!

He was nice like that. And, apparently, he was about to find out just how big his mouth was. Getting it in wasn't the problem. The whole mess of it kind of melted bit by bit if he sucked on it some. But chewing was totally not going to happen, so he was going to take that moment to sit there, feeling absurdly like a chipmunk while he waited for the chocolate to melt some more.
Classy!

Drooling chocolate and marshmallow and trying not to laugh as well as he worked steadfastly on maybe, if he was lucky, perhaps just moving his jaw a bit?
It wasn't working out for him so much, no.

But swallowing was absolutely not going to happen, and Ariel's peek was ill-timed if she didn't want to catch sight of that very same glob of s'more hitting full reverse as Jono worked on spitting it out into the fire.

Well. He'd certainly spat out worse in his lifetime.
"Bit off a bit more than I could chew, there, luv."
