The Roof, Wednesday Afternoon
With the reserve meeting canceled, after her morning class Raven retreated to the roof to meditate. She was still on edge after what had happened last night. She'd kept enough control to not turn on her friends, but her demon side had been far too easily provoked by Karla's life being in danger.
And the lust. Awkward didn't begin to describe it. Meditation was desperately called for.
She sat cross-legged near the garden, eyes closed as she sank into a light trance. She was still aware enough of her surroundings that she'd hear if someone else came up on the roof. The sun was bright and it was almost 100°F out, but she was able to heal any damage the sun did to her skin immediately. Who needed sunscreen?
She was also wondering how she was going to explain all of this to Anakin tomorrow without mentioning the word "orgy."

Possibly from herself.
"I like her. There are a lot of pretty faces on this island, yours included, but I do not have designs on all of them."
He also hadn't met all of them.

"I am a member of her Court" -- well, would be -- "and I will protect her if need be, but she is quite capable of taking care of herself," Raven said. She'd seen it last night.
"And I do thank you for your compliment," she added.

James had never seen young Carline in a snit, else it would be believable.
"You're welcome," he said, brushing off the platitude.

"She is a Queen," she said simply. "Though not of this world."

The fates would beg to differ.
"If she is in need of a squire, should I be available and have it not conflict with my own court vows, I would help," he said, simply.
Her comment was not trite or meaningless; James did not often accept compliments well.
