Cricket Campfire; Wednesday Afternoon

It was hot. Far too hot to do anything productive, outside of making a blender's worth of strawberry margaritas. It was also far too hot for pants. It was cool enough, however, to hang out by the campfire pantless (but wearing boxers, much to his dismay) and with a blender's worth of margaritas. The fire wasn't lit, but it was a nice place to sit and attempt to get a tan on his pale Canadian legs.

John nearly died laughing at that particular comment. "I'm kidding! I will not be sleeping with your mother! It'd be sick, considering!" How he'd almost married her that one time.

"Good! It'd be sick, period!" she added. "I'm glad you can laugh at my trauma!"

"Your trauma has always made me laugh," he grinned, reaching out to give her a friendly pat on her tiny little head.

"Yeah, I've noticed," she grumbled, swatting at his hand. "Brat."

"I believe you're still the brat here." He was more of a jackass.

"What, I haven't outgrown brat?" Here she would have thought she'd upgraded to bitch.

"You're still barely five feet tall, Jaina!" Yes, he was also an ass.

The hitting was just normal now. See? "You're bruising yourself at this point, really," she warned.

"I probably shouldn't enjoy you hitting me so much," John said, eyes sparking with amusement.

"You shouldn't. And you enjoying it makes it less fun for me," she frowned.
