The Deck, Wednesday Morning
It was a nice morning, with the first hint of fall in the still-warm air. Didi carried a mug of tea onto the deck to enjoy it, feeling philosophical. If she counted the time in New York with Sexton, her first anniversary as a human would be Friday. She wondered if she should throw herself a party to mark the milestone -- if she was still around at all. The feeling she wouldn't be kept tugging at her. Mortal life felt like a dress she had almost outgrown, a sentimental favorite she'd need to give up on soon enough.
She tried to shake it off as she sipped her drink. Going or staying -- whichever was going to happen, would happen without her worrying about it. For now, there was slightly spicy tea to drink and a blue sky to watch.
[OOC: Last public post as Didi.]

"Hey! Are you going to the party tonight?"

[OOC: Plus Quinn and Tara both have to be there and, even without any plot, my head would explode if I had all three in one place.]no subject

"We do our best," she answered. "That's half the reason we're still together -- we don't want to deprive the island of cute."
There was something darker behind the banter.
"Of course, you and Jaime are pretty damn cute yourselves, so you'd know."

She didn't blame Dinah; she knew how things had ended for Jaime and Tracy, and she didn't see Jaime being in a hurry to put himself through it again.

She would've wanted to try. But in months of talking about it, she'd still never been able to completely disagree with Jaime's logic on this.

"Sounds fun," she said, not keeping the doubt out of her voice. "I'm sure we'll be in touch."
