Third Floor Common Room, Sunday Morning
It had been a long, long fucking week for Kate Gregson. But she'd had a good newbie picnic, and she'd gotten an absolutely adorable new fake sib, and so today she was actually feeling pretty good about things.
Good enough to wander into the common room after waking up (still in the tank top and pyjama bottoms she'd slept in, but at least it wasn't shorts) to make breakfast to share with people. Nothing fancy, just a simple fruit salad. But there was enough for a lot of people.
And the rest of her chocolate coins were in a bowl on the table too. She'd missed a couple newbies yesterday and anyway, if she kept them in her room she'd just eat them all by herself.
At least here she was actually partaking of the fruit salad while lounging on a couch. Mmm, fruit salad and a lazy Sunday morning.
[ooc: Open common room is open!]

"You have some dedication to the welcoming thing," he commented, taking in all the fruit.

"And that was just for the luck of ending up on this floor. Not even a fake sibling."

Calvin waved at Kate and glanced at the fruit before making a beeline for the cupboard to look for the Chocolate-Coated Sugar Bombs.

"Ooh fruit salad, nice," she remarked, as she sought out the coffee pot. That was why she loved her floor. "Also, hi."

She'd had been too lazy to do anything about caffeine after making the salad, but that didn't mean she wouldn't like coffee.

"Did the fish get a name in the end?" he asked. Having been completely unhelpful on that front, he felt he should ask.
It might have been more normal to start with a 'morning' but... Well. What was normal, really.

"Good morning." he said. "Ooh, fruit salad, cool. Any pineapple in there?"
no subject
Or so Kate would have everyone believe, anyway. "There's some pineapple, yeah," she said. "Morning, Robin."

She tried to remain off to the side, just to be courteous.
"Excuse me," she said, trying to be nice about her interruption. "Can I ask where you got your fruit?"
no subject
And she looked up at this point, of course. And did a kind of a double take. But it wasn't like she hadn't seen green people before (Jen had been green a lot) and hadn't just been talking to a frog, so she got over it quickly enough. Managed a polite little smile and everything.
"Turtle and Canary," she continued, nodding. "It's a store in town."
