Gardens, Thursday Afternoon
There was a garden.
There was also a Cassidy who was working off some temper and irritation in said garden. It was a good thing that she had remembered to shield her hands while she was working because she had quite forgotten her gloves.
Said gloves were still in a drawer in her room since she had come right to the garden after her last class of the day.
It could be said that one red-headed witchling had worked herself into a bit of a temper. It was a temper she was using to help her work in the garden.
Mind the flying weeds.

At least, not until she showed her true colors. And hideous shoulder-pads.
"I think I've seen Elphaba. She was at the Reserves yesterday. Green, right?"

"Mhmm," Cassidy said, nodding. "She seemed very nice. I tried explaining to her how I was able to be a Queen and go away to school and how it wasn't a burden at all, but I don't know if I confused her or not."

Not biased at all, our Karla.
"The only thing you need to become a Queen in this world is the right parents or the right husband. There's nothing special about you. Our Queens and theirs are polar opposites. For the Blood, we're important, not our lineage. For them, it's the relationship that's important--the female herself could be replaced by damn near anyone without a second thought. That doesn't make sense to me."

"What? But what about the Land? What about the people that Queens take care of? What kind of world would put more importance on a relationship than on their responsibility?" She shook her head. "You're right, that doesn't make any sense at all."
And then, because she was curious.
"What did the High Lord say when you told him that?" Because Cassidy assumed Karla had told her Uncle all about that strangeness.
Maybe.

She shrugged a bit. "You're a female, he's a Warlord Prince. Defend and protect. You know how it goes."
