Third Floor Common Room | Afternoon | Monday | September 6
One of the benefits of being a demigod was that Percy wasn't showing any effects of his fight with Luke yesterday. He'd gone down to the beach and done some swimming which had taken care of the cut on the back of his shoulder and the bruises on his hand. Even if Luke had beaten him, Percy was glad that he wasn't going to show obvious signs of that which would bring questions which would mean he'd have to tell people what happened.
And he really didn't want to tell people he'd gotten beaten.
There was a bad action movie on the television that had gotten Percy's attention almost immediately. He spent so much time training and running from monsters that getting to just chill out and watch movies had become a rare thing. He was taking advantage of it while he could.
Even the action movie couldn't completely hold his attention so if it looked like Percy wasn't paying attention, he probably wasn't. His thoughts were pinballing around every so often. If some of those thoughts included his cousins, well, oh well.
[It's a common room so it's open, dontcha know]

"My mistake," he said mildly, half smiling. "There a lot of evil where you come from? You mentioned a snake thing last time I saw you."
no subject
"Yes, I spent this past spring in a town where most of the evil forces tend to gravitate toward. The giant snake was just one of the many threats there."
"Have you faced anything similar?" he asked innocently. He knew Percy didn't want to be super-share-y about his past, but if it came down to him just going on about his own achievements, most of which were fabricated in some way, it might start to get pretty boring pretty fast.

"Nothing giant but yeah," he finally answered, trying to make it sound less than it was. "You're not the only one who lives in a place where there's evil things running around."
That still wasn't as open as Luke was but he was getting there. Somewhat.

"Well, I'm certain that would be impressive if it were a bit less vague," he remarked.
Yeah, one bad thing about Wes: He couldn't help the snark that was associated with people keeping quiet about things, being a naturally curious person and all. It wasn't that he tried to make people's lives difficult, just that he couldn't stand not knowing things.

"First you wanna know about my sparring match and now you wanna know about my past," Percy noted flippantly. "You're coming on a little strong, aren't you?"
no subject
Also, Wes was nosy. That may have been part of it.
no subject
"You can be curious but that doesn't mean I have to tell you anything," he finally said, shrugging. "Thanks for the compliment, though. I tell what I want to tell. If I don't say more, it's because I don't want to."

As for the lecture, it kind of came with his job. He was sort of prone to lectures and speeches at weird times.
"Fair enough," he said finally, managing not to huff in frustration. "I'll refrain from asking further." Or he'd try to, anyway.
no subject
"Maybe I can't tell you," he suggested, shrugging. Percy knew he could tell Wesley but he didn't want to. He just didn't want Wesley to know that.
no subject
"I suppose," he said stiffly, while his brain whirred around, trying to make sense of that "can't tell you" bit.

After he said that last part, he wished he'd said it with a bit more sarcasm. Or any at all, really. It came out a bit creepy.

"...you're the one asking," Percy reminded him in case he'd forgotten. His voice was mild, at least. "So, quit yelling at me like you're not."
no subject
"I haven't been asking for several minutes now," he pointed out blandly.

Percy thought that was a pretty decent compromise. He didn't know if he'd follow through (just because he'd probably forget) but the offer was something.
no subject
"That sounds - amenable," he replied. Honestly, he hadn't expected any such compromise. He'd been planning on just snarking at Percy with no results forever. This plan sounded better. "Thank you," he added.

Except that that was totally the reason. It was totally just because he liked waving a sword in Percy's face."All right," he said, trying to sound cool and not as enthused as he was. "Perhaps Thursday or Friday after classes?"
no subject
Two classes with his cousins and Jason the face stealer made it hard to stay relaxed for a chunk of time.

They'd come to an understanding, yeah, but that wasn't going to stop Percy's jerkiness completely.
no subject
"Mm. I'll be sure to do that," he said with as much sarcasm as he could.
But seriously, he probably should pratice. Wes made a mental note to head to the salle later or tomorrow to get on that.
