One of the benefits of being a demigod was that Percy wasn't showing any effects of his fight with Luke yesterday. He'd gone down to the beach and done some swimming which had taken care of the cut on the back of his shoulder and the bruises on his hand. Even if Luke had beaten him, Percy was glad that he wasn't going to show obvious signs of that which would bring questions which would mean he'd have to tell people what happened.

And he really didn't want to tell people he'd gotten beaten.

There was a bad action movie on the television that had gotten Percy's attention almost immediately. He spent so much time training and running from monsters that getting to just chill out and watch movies had become a rare thing. He was taking advantage of it while he could.

Even the action movie couldn't completely hold his attention so if it looked like Percy wasn't paying attention, he probably wasn't. His thoughts were pinballing around every so often. If some of those thoughts included his cousins, well, oh well.

"I've never heard of it," she replied, raising her brows."Beg pardon for asking questions about things I don't know. Maybe next time I'll just struggle along in ignorance and assume things about you instead."

"You seemed overly curious, I was prepared to be overly informative," Percy retorted quickly. "Everyone else is assuming things about me so it wouldn't be a huge change."

"No one has this ADHD where I'm from," Katniss replied coolly. "Or if they do, no one's called it that. Maybe they've eliminated it in the future. And if so many people are making assumptions, wouldn't you rather that someone actually find something out about you first? Or can you just not be pleased either way?"

"It's considered a disability," Percy told her, still sounding irritated. "Going in depth about it isn't always something I like to do."

That was a half lie. He didn't like the actual effects of the ADHD on his normal life but it was a big help during fights.

"Well, I'm sorry you're self-conscious about it, but if you're going to tell people here you have it, I suggest you become used to answering questions," Katniss replied with a casualness she didn't really feel. "Not all of us are from your reality, nor will we have any idea what you're talking about."

"Yeah, do you have any idea how you made it sound, though?" Percy wondered even if it was clear she didn't. "I told you because you asked and then you kind of made it sound like something small when it's not."

"I didn't realize it wasn't," Katniss replied. "You said you have trouble focusing. To me, that sounds like quite a large problem in my line of work, but for most people, it sounds like being a teenager."

"It's not," he said with a shake of his head. "I don't focus well, I get distracted easily, I don't finish activities, I daydream a lot, I sometimes don't listen when someone talks to me, I don't understand things quickly, and I get bored easily."

Having doctor after doctor list these symptoms made them pretty easy to provide nowadays.

And while Katniss wasn't exactly sympathetic, she did notice the familiarity with the terms as he rattled them off. "Must make school difficult," she commented lightly. Considering she had enough trouble there herself, and Katniss tended to pride herself on her focus.

"Yeah, it always has," he said, laughing a bit. "I've been expelled from every school I've been in. They don't really deal well."

And neither did he.

"Because of the disorder? Seems like an unfair expulsion," Katniss noted thoughtfully.

Like something the Capitol would do, really. Particularly after she'd heard about what happened in other districts.

Percy smirked and shook his head. "Maybe I didn't handle things too well either. People liked to make fun and I didn't always walk away."

He never walked away. He still didn't walk away.

"Why walk away when they started it?" she wondered with a tiny smile.

Mm, such a healthy approach to life.

"That's what I thought but my teachers didn't always see that way," he said and half smiled. "Neither did my best friend. They tried to get me to stop, I obviously didn't listen. I've heard it's near impossible to get thrown out of this school, though."

"They haven't thrown anyone out that I've seen," she said, though she did briefly wonder if that was what had happened to Madison. "But I've not been here very long, either. And I try to keep out of my teachers' attention."

"How's that going for you?" Percy seemed to have only really caught Aly's attention and she'd just wanted to know about things he'd blown up.

"If you give enough one-word answers, they leave you be," she said with a tiny smile.

"Any reason why you don't want them looking too closely at you?" Percy wondered curiously. "Or just don't like school?"

"I don't like anyone looking too closely at me," Katniss replied easily. "Teachers or peers alike. I'm scrutinized enough at home. I'd like to be more invisible here."

"Where is home?" Percy asked. She hadn't heard of ADHD or recognized the movie so he was assuming that this wasn't her world.

"Panem," she answered. "No one here knows it, so don't fret if you don't. I think it hasn't been formed yet, since I'm from the future."

"I don't know it." Percy pursed his lips and tried to memorize the name. "How far in the future?"

"Somewhere between seventy-five and a hundred years, I think," she said with a shrug. "And you? Is this your time?"

"More or less," he said because he didn't actually know. Nothing was outdated or completely foreign so he figured it couldn't be too far either way. "I'm from New York. It's north of here. My mom still lives there, in fact."

"Newyork," she repeated, rolling the word around and committing it to memory. "Do you like it there?"
