It was too nice a day to spend it inside, Bod decided. His one class had been easy so he'd gone into town after and picked up some pastries from the bakery. He hadn't ever had a sweet tooth before but he seemed to be gaining one now.

Miss Lupescu wouldn't be too pleased.

With that done, Bod hadn't even gone up to his room. He'd detoured onto the deck, dropped his backpack and settled into a chair to stretch out and let the sun warm his face. He could feel autumn in the air, smell it on the wind and he was anticipating it.

Summer wasn't the best season for an Englishmen especially an American summer that consisted of a huge sun and blistering temperatures. Bod would just take advantage of this nice day by lounging on the deck and eating sweets.

[Deck's open. It's really that gorgeous outside.]

Bod pursed his lips and...didn't answer. He didn't plan on doing anything stupid and had no immediate plans period.

"Maybe we should talk more when you're feeling better," he said instead, glancing back up at the cloudy sky. "You're tired and I don't think I'm making it any better. So, I think you should maybe go get some rest."

Bod meant that gently and with all the good intentions he had. She did sound tired and conversations like this probably weren't helping. He just didn't know of a better way to say it.

"So you're sending me up to my room," Kate drawled in response, but didn't sound all that put out about it. She pushed herself up from her chair. "Good thing you can't say anything about dessert or stuff."

It was merely teasing. Really, she was kind of grateful.

"I'm sending you to rest. Where you do that is up to you," he said but he did pick up his bag of baked goods and offered it to her. "You just need to rest before you do anything else."

Kate shook her head. "No thanks, I got enough sweets up in my room." But she leaned down anyway, for a very quick kiss and a quiet murmur. "Always telling me to rest."

"You need the rest," Bod replied, dropping the bag back into his lap and nodding. "I'll speak with you later, I'm sure. Go rest."

"I will, I will," Kate sighed. "See ya."

She gave him a little wave, then wandered off.
